SELLERS there is a solution ! I have been refunding all payments received yesterday and refuse to ship !!!!! IF ebay wants my money let them pull the stuff out of their #@# WHICH seems to be where their head is ! EBAY/PAY PAL  ONLY UNDERSTANDS THE BOTTOM LINE , WANT TO GET THEIR ATTENTION , STOP THEIR FREE MONEY !!!. As you see from my feed back I have been with them a long time .....and have done a great job . WHAT they say my problem is , is "item description " star on feed back form . WHICH I CAN NOT SEE OR fight !!! ILLEGAL SEIZURE OF FUNDS !!!

I HAVE BEEN WITH EBAY SINCE 2000 ,WITH  7301 FEED BACK . IN A 12 MONTH PERIOD... I SOLD 765 USED ITEMS WITH ONLY 8 PEOPLE SAYING " ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED " IN THAT 12 MONTH PERIOD , OR THAT IS WHAT ebay SAID, NO PROOF I CAN SEE.........I WOULD SAY THAT'S A BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT !!
WELL ..  I AM BEING PUNISHED !!!   EBAY/PAYPAL NOW HAVE ALMOST 800.00 OF MY PAYMENTS FROM CUSTOMERS  ,.... ITEMS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SHIPPED OUT ...BUT PAYMENT MONEY IS BEING HELD BY PAY PAL / EBAY , THEY REFUSE TO RELEASE THE PAYMENTS 20 DAYS ?? YES THAT'S RIGHT ....20 DAYS !!!! or longer .

THIS IS NOW ON ALL MY AUCTIONS SO BUYERS CAN SEE , THEY ALSO HAVE POWER , NOT SURE ALL YOU SELLERS CAN AFORD THIS , BUT WHAT GOOD DOES IT DO YOU TO SELL IF EBAY / PAY PAL KEEPS YOUR MONEY ..??? STAND UP NOW ! OR THEY WILL START KEEPING IT LONGER ! OR FOREVER !!!!!

I AM POSTING THIS SO YOU AS A CUSTOMER WILL UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU BID ON THIS ITEM YOUR MONEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED TILL EBAY PAYS ME WHAT THEY OWE ME ...FOR I REFUSE TO LET THEM BULLY ME , I WILL REFUND AUCTION BEFORE I LET THEM KEEP MY PAYMENTS FOR 20 DAYS FOR SOMETHING UNTRUE THEY COOKED UP !!!

 my case, I hope I am only waiting 3 days. still I think that's terrible! I sold some tickets that I really wanted to use I wanted those at that show, however I knew they would bring a good price close to $400 to be exact (really needed the money)I have previously sold only about 8-10 times I have sold items from a few dollars to $502 and have ONLY POSITIVE FEEDBACK! I DON'T RECALL HAVING TO WAIT THEN IT WAS SEVERAL YEARS AGO when I had the $502 item? So I put my tickets for sale only a few days before the show I limit myself (my fault) to a one day auction to ensure that I can have time to overnight them and and my customer has the tickets in their hands 2days before the show! Well loaded their tracking info they got the tickets Friday they left me positive feedback and I am sure they have most likely used their ticket today Sunday for the show so they have got their moneys worth and here I am didn't get to go sit in my excellent seats at the show I wanted to go to and they have used the tickets and I can't touch the money I understand some people have ruined it for others by not being honest but why do the honest have to pay? there are 3 criteria that have to be met I believe you must have sold 25items which I haven't but how the heck can I afford to with the ebay and paypal fees then the hold time from the day.. I sold them shipped the next day.. customer had them the following day.. customer left pos feedback the next day.. used them today.. and I still don't have a dime? Then when they finally release the money the bank won't post it for a few more days so I think the 3 days is TOO MUCH TIME FOR THEM TO HOLD IT WHEN I HAVE ALREADY GOT POSITIVE FEEDBACK FROM THE CUSTOMER? THAT MEANS THE CUSTOMER IS SATISFIED RIGHT? SO WHY THE HECK IS EBAY NOT SATISFIED..?????

I WILL PATIENTLY WAIT what other choice do I have I think the 3 criteria should be lifted to 2 out  of the 3!!

1... sold 25 items (I don't want to sell on ebay for a living just occasionally when I have something that I think may be of value that I can live without!!)

2..Sold $500 or more

3..Sold at least 90 day ago

I think 2 of the 3 regulations maybe should have to be met any 2 especially if you don't have any negative feedback wth?

If the customer leaves positive feedback after they have proof that it was delivered I THINK MY MONEY SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY THEN !!!!!! I COULD HAVE GOT IT AT LEAST A DAY OR SO SOONER. I GUESS ON TOP OF THE FEES THEY HAVE COLLECTED FROM ME THEY NEED THE INTEREST THEY MAY DRAW ON THE COLLECTION OF ALL OF US COMBINED! NOW WHAT am I going to do run an try to sell 20 more items hastily so that I can get my money sooner next time? That would probably get me some neg feedback..

I am honest person just trying to survive from week to week..I need the money asap??

The DSR system is stupid, there are a lot of buyers who have no clue of the costs & fees associated with selling on eBay which resulted in my not meeting standard performance on shipping & handling costs.  I've been selling on eBay for quite a few years, but I've only been a small seller and don't do this as an occupation, I have 100% positive feedback, for years this was a good system, but since they started with this DSR, seems if you're not shipping for free (must have high volume sales) or not charging actual postage you get a lousy rating on the shipping end of DSR.  Sold an item for .99 and with all of the eBay and PayPal fees all I made was .38 which does not count the materials I had to buy to ship the item and the time it took me to list and package the item and the gas to go to the Post Office, so I figure I made -2.50, so that in essence I should have listed the item at 0 cents and ship the item for free!!!   And to add insult to injury, I now have to wait until mid July before I can access MY money stuck in PayPal.  Another factor that is Final Value Fee on Shipping, that is absurd and then you have to pay more fees to PayPal on that same money, they are Fat Cats and I'm tired of feeding them.  I DON'T THINK THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN....I'M DONE SELLING ON EBAY!!!!!  I don't know yet if I'm going to continue to buy on eBay, seems that good deals are getting harder to find since a lot of sellers like myself are leaving eBay and there are a lot of large sellers in which many of the types of items I buy I can now get at Amazon often for less, there are other auction sites I've started to check out as well as different payment processors, so time will tell.  I can't say it often enough---I AM NO LONGER SELLING ON EBAY, and hope many more stop selling on eBay and that eBay dies a painful death.

I HAVE BEEN SELLING FOR YEARS AND SUDDENLY MY PAYPAL FUNDS ARE BEING HELD DO TO MY NOT MEETING EBAY STANDARDS.  PAYPAL CLAIMS NOT BE TO BE PART OF EBAY AND YET GIVES MY MONEY BACK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION NON KNOWLEDGE TO COMPLAINERS.  MY PAYPLA MONEY SUPPLIMENTS MY INCOME OF A SMALL AMOUNT OF SOCIAL SECURITY AND A SMALL INVESTMENT.  BOTH TOTALING ABOUT $1000.00 MONTHLY.  I NEED THIS ADDITIONAL INCOME TO SUPPLIMENT MY INCOME.  WHAT DO I DO?

Well i just noticed this matter of holding money after listing over 100 items. now do i v to take them off or carry on.. no idea?I have %100 been over 6,7 years with paypal and ebay. what if people dont give you feedback. i sold a bike recently and had no feedback same for other items, even items has been collected in person never bothered to give me feedback. i think when paypal taking % of our money shouldnt v the right to hold it, or pay intrest for holding it.as if not , bank would have.

They haven't done anything when i v been sold a car via PayPal. and when i went to get the car it wasnt what the seller says. I had to beg and ask the seller everyday to cancel my bid. no support no nothing. had to close my PayPal in case they take money. I am thinking to leave the whole ebay and paypal business. I alwayes had a bad experience.

PayPal is part of eBay and it is relevant to talk about it here.I think PayPal should reconciler their decision. or some one else come with an idea of paying directly to your bank account.you always could check online if u got payment.

I am thinking to say good bye to both after all my auction ended as it doesnt feel right. You sale stuff becuse you need money and a dectator appears holding your money.

As you can see from my feedback rating I am new, certainly with this account, to selling. I have sold on ebay before but have set up my own "shop" selling guitar picks (and hopefully other stuff soon).

I'm unemployed and having poor luck in gaining employment so I decided to try and earn some money by selling on ebay. Nothing wrong with that, right?

I have one question, do they hold the funds for 21 days for EVERY transaction or is it just the first few?

It is an absolute joke, I would never have bothered to buy 1000 guitar picks and choose eBay/PayPal to sell.

It seem that they are making it more and more difficult for sellers.

Paypal has just put a 180 day limitation on my account.

I can not recieve funds , send funds or withdraw my funds!!!

I have made calls to both ebay and paypal with no given reason to why.

They are both not helpfull at all....

Im convinced paypal and ebay are running a scam, they need to be reported just like they report us, now thats fair enough.

I just got a negative feedback cause of paypal holding the funds!!!! I had to give a refund that a never received. cause it said holding money for it too clear in 21 days.

Personally I am exploring other avenues to sell, Powell's Book store in Portland, OR and Brattle Street Books in Boston, MA both have online catalogs and are nationally renowned! They allow you to list on commission and have waiting lists for buyers on almost any book you can think of.

Brattle street also offers a free inventory manager.

I have had numerous issues with ebay and warned them I will take my business somewhere they appreciate making money, they are not the only game out there and I will not support these business practices. Seller's are what make ebay profitable just as much as buyers, we deserve consideration!

It is just common sense that holding funds is bound to put seller's OUT OF BUSINESS! Not sure how this is helping anybody...
