*I'll start by saying~
I LOVE to add that little extra special touch to my shipments!
I add a thank you note to every auction I sell with a pack of flower seeds attached to it, during the spring /summer and holiday gifts, such as decorative pencils, etc. on holiday occassions!

Customers LOVE it and it really has done wonders for my feedback as well!

Now its your turn!
What do YOU do, to make your buyer enjoy an ebay transaction with you?

My buyers seem to like that I offer them half-price insured shipping if they buy three or more of my book listings. It's certainly inspired several people to buy multiple listings -- one fellow recently bought 10 books for which he only had to pay a total of $4 for Media Insured shipping with Delivery Confirmation.

I think most of my buyers also appreciate the good communication, safe packing, and quick shipping I give.

Hello,

I think buyers like good descriptions of the item. I know as a reliable buyer that I'd rather hear about the product than the lengthy scathing lecture directed toward NPBs.

I have received many compliments over the years because of the line "Buyers always get the actual lot pictured in the scan, never a substitute." in the terms and conditions section of my auctions.

I have heard that some video sellers here on ebay, add a pack of popcorn to their packages!

How nice to add that extra touch!

That sure would make me remember that seller or even add that seller to my watch list to buy from again in the future!

Prompt communication, clear listings, prompt shipping with personalized thank you notes. I'm always playing with my ads and trying to condense my TOS but I've also received good feedback on that too so I'm still learning ;)

We just started packaging up our handbags in colorful tissue paper with a sticker holding the paper together. We also had professional looking cards printed saying thank you with our names and email addresses. We write a quick handwritten note on each card and people LOVE it.
For us the best thing we can do seems to be good communication. It takes extra work and hours, but I am pretty much available every day for questions. People seem to be shocked when I reply to them right away. And, if they receive the item and it comes damaged or whatever, if you communicate quickly with the person, they are so much less likely to leave negative feedback.

I sometimes offer coupons to repeat customers for free shipping on their next purchase. Buyers are sensitive to shipping costs these days so I try to charge just what my supplies and postage costs me with no handling charge. However, I realize that can't always work depending on what you sell.

I always include atleast one greeting card with all of the packages I send... If they buy more than one item, I will usually send an extra card for each item ordered. I hope that people like it... I guess they do, I have alot of repeat customers...

I love all these tips, thank you. I just started selling two days ago, so I have not had an auction end yet. I am making notes of all of these ideas, they are great. I have been a buyer for some time now and one thing I really like is when they e-mail you to see if you got your item. Love that.

I am truthful in my descriptions. I try to be as detailed as possible with my descriptions too. I pretend that there isn't a picture to see so I use the words to describe stuff. That way they get the words and the pictures as a double check system.

I cummunicate with my buyers immediately upon end of auction and all through the entire process. The first e-mail is EOA, the next e-mail is I recd pmt and holding shipment until XX/XX once check clears, next e-mail is package mailed, thank you, and feedback reminder.

I package everything as I would want items to be packaged for me. I take extra care with glass. I have gotten several compliments and great feedback on my packaging.

I always stay polite, professional and business-like no matter what the attitude is in the e-mail from the bidders. If I get mad at an e-mail, I wait for several hours before replying. Then I sit down and think of a response which is professional and positive in nature.

All of this has helped in through thousands of transactions on my two id's together.
