The harder I work listing items for sale the more I make. The less I work, the less I make.

It seems the harder I work listing items for sale the more I make.

When I work a full eight hour day on eBay for several weeks in a row I make thousands each week.

When I work four hours a day on eBay for several weeks in a row I make hundreds each week.

The less I work, the less I make.

Is anyone else having this problem? Or is it just another one of eBay's sinister tricks to get of us?

Can we see your completed auctions so we can judge for ourselves if your theory actually works?

"It seems the harder I work listing items for sale the more I make. "

You're working too hard then. Try selling items which sell themselves.

Interesting! Presumably when you spend more time listing you have more items availably for sale and more of them get purchased. Seems quite logical to me. Why do you think it seems strange to you, OP?

If that's all you're making, then you're doing something drastically wrong, especially if you're working hard at it. Sometimes taking some time off from work, like 2 or 3 months or so, can generate huge rewards when you come back all refreshed and rearing to go again. :)

I would love to know what you people are selling to "make thousands a week." Or even "hundreds per week." And what do you mean by "working hard." I, newbie idiot that I am, have just discovered a very wrong and disasterous to my pocket assumption that if an item didn't sell there were NO fee's at all. I stupidly stupidly listed a zillion LP's that didn't sell and am being soaked for those fee's as well as relisting fee's that for items that didn't sell. And I worked very very hard at listing all those damn LP's.

I have found that it's very difficult to sell LPs here. You have to have the rarest of the rare and in excellent condition and even then you will be lucky to get a good price.
I was doing well listing rare LPs here back in 2007/2008, mainly overseas buyers, but this year has been dismal. Back then getting $50 to $100 for a rare LP was not unusual. The bidding wars were exciting!
I'm thinking that the fad has passed and now I'm stuck with over 1000 of the things down in the basement.
Anyone having any success selling LPs here now?
