How many sellers experienced this already. Ebay says they will remove negative feedback due to the customer wanting something out side of the auction terms and threatening negative feedback if us sellers don't make that happen for them. So much for negative feedback being removed, We followed eBay and paypal rules. A customer threatened us with negative feedback because she wanted us to send an item for free, yes for free out side of the auction terms. Talk about extortion what a prime example. We shipped to the registered paypal address, she gave us the wrong address and contacted us "after" the item shipped. We told her it shipped, She asked for a refund we told her the auction does not provide for refunds, She then threatened negative feedback and said it was about the money accusing us of making up the paypal address etc., we offered even still to work with her but we could not ship again for free, she left us negative feedback.

Same exact situation here. A so called "buyer" won an auction listing and within seconds demanded that I ship the item for less than it was listed.
This item was a large cast iron piece which of course is very heavy. The "buyer wanted it shipped practically for free.
At any rate, I refused to do it. The "buyer" never paid for the item and left negative feedback. After several hours and several phone calls to ebay "customer support" the feedback is still there and I have lost my Top Rated Seller status and discount.
This is what ebay wants. They are coming up with more and more ways to take away good sellers discounts.
I WOULD HAVE A LOT MORE RESPECT FOR YOU EBAY IF YOU WOULD JUST COME OUT AND SAY "WE DON'T WANT TO GIVE DISCOUNTS ANYMORE" AND QUIT GIVING DISCOUNTS.
INSTEAD OF BEING UNDERHANDED ABOUT IT.

Ebay needs to stick up more for seller. I am having a terrible time right now with international customers saying they did not get package but I have dates numbers and place package was shipped and ebay says it is still my fault.

If Paypal or eBay put a hold on your money or refunded the money to your buyer but you have proved that you have actually shipped the items with tracking number you may appeal for the case. Ebay will refund you the money.

Hello! was reading this forum page and I kind of have a situation like this at the moment. Case is closed already and Ebay has refunded his money of $33.50. But still over the past month and a couple weeks, the buyer has threatened me with bombardments of emails about giving me negative feedback and giving me a score of 0 out of 5 stars on the detailed "sellers ratings" category. Because he still wants a refund of the $5.00 for S&H fees. Even though the case is closed done and over with, is he still able to give me an negative feedback? What should I do? Never had this happened to me.

I SHIPPED A NICE PANTSUIT TO A BUYER WHO LEFT CRAPPY AND UNTRUE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. WHEN I NOTICED THE FEEDBACK I NOTED SHE WAS A SELLER AND I CHIDED HER FOR NOT CONTACTING ME AND GIVING ME A CHANCE TO TAKE THE OUTFIT BACK. SHE THEN EMAILED ME AND SAID IF I WANTED TO REFUND HER MONEY SHE WOULD RETRACT THE FEEDBACK IF I SENT HER THE FORMS. I TOLD HER I REALLY DIDNT LIKE TO HANDLE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AFTER THE FACT, THRU FEEDBACK, THAT I FELT IT WAS UNFAIR THAT SHE DID NOT CONTACT ME AND NOTICED SHE DIDNT HAVE 100% FEEDBACK AND WONDERED HOW SHE WOULD FEEL BE TREATED THE WAY SHE TREATED ME.
I CALLED EBAY TO FIND OUT HOW TO SEND THE FEEDBACK REMOVAL FORMS TO THIS BUYER (AFTER BLOCKING HER FROM FUTURE PURCHASES) AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD REMOVE THE FEEDBACK BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT BUYERS TO USE THE FEEDBACK AS A HOSTAGE TOOL. BEYA FREELY REMOVED THIS FEEDBACK.
I wonder if everyone is calling about these isues

I have not been selling on ebay long, but i have experienced two negative feedbacks. This happened after two different customers went behind my back to provide negative feedback. Need i remind you that this is after various responses back and forth asking what they would like me to do to make them a happy customer. After extensive deliberation i was still hit with the negative feedbacks even after the fact that i mentioned that i was ready to provide a full cash return. The real question is, does anyone of a system that is in place that would certify for you for a reasonable fee that a product is functioning properly and in the condition that is described in the listing with some type of stamp or confirmation sheet. If that is availble it would eliminate about 70% of these scammers.

Something similar happened to me and the buyer left negative feedback (he changes his story every so often, now he claims it was used when it wasn't.) That's beside the point, the issue is eBay and the way they are handling feedback and buyers/sellers.
I replied to the buyers negative feedback and the buyer again gets to leave a nasty comment and has the final say. If you can't give buyers negative feedback you should at least get the final say on your negative feedback (which would promote more selling...more money to eBay).
I only sell more expensive things and with the way things are currently on eBay, it is too much of a risk to be out hundreds of dollars with their flawed changes. At first I thought it was a fluke, the one bad apple buyer, however after doing some research it's clear to me that it's because of eBay's new policies. And like a previous poster said, I would be more worried about savy eBay buyers vs newcomers.
The answer for me is quite simple. eBay does not deserve my money. There are other ways to sell online (craigslist, your local online classifieds, amazon, etc).

started back on ebay to make some money.fees on amazon are crazy.did not know about feedback extortion.and how bad it is right now.had a few problems only in the past few weeks.i talked to one buyer on the phone and he let slip that he saw the same item cheaper.he was claiming it did'nt work well.refunded him a discount anyway.another this week told me that item needed to be repaired for $25.i sold him a tippmann 98 paintball gun.its called the ak47 of paintball guns because there are no problems with it you can drop it get it wet nothing will happen to it.a third neg me because someone at the post office opened the package and stole it.i would have just sent him another for free.i think he wanted two but did'nt want to pay for two..i'm starting to notice a pattern.they'll always put a price in the extortion email .i don't live my life like these people.i would rather go without then to defraud a someone.

Sold something and buyer sent message telling me how much they would pay for shipping and to send an updated invoice then they would pay. I told them sorry. Since they said they would not pay, I sent them a request to cancel. Sounds logical-I wont lower they wont pay siad amount. They let me know now they have longer to decide since the case gives them a week. I said ok w/e. They then tell me if I do not lower the shipping RIGHT NOW they will leave me 1 star on all and negative feedback and report me to ebay authorities. I am awaiting to hear why the reporting part?! I just got top rated seller status and feel this has made me a target and I don't want it for the puny discount. Wonder if ebay will remove feedback. Called and customer support reviewed and said it was black mail, but then said they would only remove feedback if it was inconsistant. Do you think they will remove it? Hate this system.

I had a similiar situation where a customer received an item and emailed me and said it was broken. I apologized and told her that I would give her a refund. I normally subtract shipping and a 10% restock fee "which is stated" and I told her that due to this circumstance, I was not going to do that. I told her to ship the item back and I would give her a full refund. She then emailed me and said that she wanted a full refund and return shipping and that if I did not give it to her, she was going to open an ebay case and if they did not do anything about it that she would "leave an extremely bad review". At this point, I called ebay to discuss the situation and ask what to do. I was told that I was not responsible for paying her return shipping and that if she left negative feedback to call and they would remove it. I then went back into my account and she had opened an ebay case. I called ebay again and was told to respond through the resolution center. I did and let them know that I had no problem issuing a refund but that I was not going to pay her return shipping. Ok, so ebay issued her a refund and told me that the case was closed and that I did not have to issue her a refund, that they did it. The next day I received negative feedback from her. She flat out lied and said that she purchased item with no packaging at all and that she had to open a case to get a refund. Unbelievable! I called ebay and spoke with a rep and after reviewing our emails said that yes he would remove it and that it was extortion. A buyer may not threaten negative feedback for a return, refund, or anything outside of the sale. He said it would take 24 hours to come off. Well two days later it is still there. I called ebay again and was told that it did not fall under those guidelines and that because she used the word "review" instead of "feedback" it did not violate any policy. Are you kidding me? She said that the person I spoke with previously told me wrong and that he should not have gotten my hopes up. Are you kdding me again? She also told me that there was no reson to call back that she asked someone else and her supervisor said the same thing. Ebay is ridiculous. I offered her a full refund, she did not have to open a case but I was not going to adhere to her threat and pay her return shipping. I am looking into other ways to sell. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to contact me. I wish someone would open another place like ebay who will have a better policy in place. Sellars should not be bullied by buyers nor should they be able to get away with things like that. It makes it very difficult to sell. There are too many dishonest peope out in this world today and scammers as well. Something needs to be done about it and ebay needs to step up to the plate.

THAT'S TOTALLY TRUE., EBAY SHOULD CHANGE THE RULES ABOUT THE NEGATIVE FEDDBACK BUYERS LEFT WITHOUT ANY COMUNICATION. EBAY SHOULD TAKE CARE OF SELLERS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE WANT ARE PAYING TO THEM.

Today I had a classic case of feedback extortion, a buyer threatened me with negative feedback if he didn't get a refund for a item I sold him, and went ahead and left negative feedback just an hour after opening a case through anger. I have spoken to Ebay chat representatives, and had the feedback removed ! This is the first time i've EVER had negative feedback removed, not just the comment but the WHOLE thing !
There you go proof Ebay help really sometimes does help against idiots who abuse Ebay sellers.
I do however believe some are more helpful than others on Ebay chat regardless of what policies they should abide to.

Happened to me more then once.
Apparently you can only remove a certain amount of feedback in a given time. I had a buyer leave 5 negatives and they would only remove 3. When clearly the ebay messages are in black and white proving the extortion.
ALSO, I HAVE FOUND A NEW LOOP HOLE IN THE SYSTEM THAT EBAY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT! GET THIS:
IF YOU REQUEST A BUYERS CONTACT INFORMATION, EBAY WILL PROVIDE IT.
SO - I RECEIVED A BUNCH OF PHONE CALLS AND NASTY EMAILS FROM A BUYER OF MINE ON EBAY. THIS BUYER DEMANDED A REFUND OR FOR ME TO SEND THEM MORE ITEMS AT NO CHARGE TO THEM -OR- AND GET THIS, THEY WOULD LEAVE ME NEGATIVE FEEDBACK (OH NO). ALSO ON TOP OF THE FEEDBACK THEY OPENED A DISPUTE THROUGH PAYPAL JUST TO MESS WITH ME KNOWING IT WOULD TIE UP MY FUNDS FOR ABOUT A MONTH (AS SLOW AS EVERYONE MOVES ON PAYPAL).
WHEN I CONTACTED EBAY WITH THIS ISSUE, THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. EVEN AFTER I FAXED OVER COPIES OF THE EMAIL(S) AND GAVE THEM FULL PERMISSION TO ACCESS MY EMAIL ACCOUNT. NONE OF WHICH IS GOOD ENOUGH.
SO LESSON LEARNED TODAY FOR SUCCESSFUL EXTORTION ON EBAY:
1. REQUEST SELLER CONTACT INFO FROM EBAY.
2. USE THIS INFORMATION GIVEN TO YOU BY EBAY TO CONTACT THE SELLER OUTSIDE OF EBAY.
3. START DEMANDING!
4. LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK DEMAND REFUND TIE UP SOMEONE ELSE'S FUNDS FOR LAUGHS AND GET AWAY WITH ALL OF IT.
GOT TO LOVE THE EBAY INJUSTICE SYSTEM.

WHY EBAY/PAYPAL WONT CHANGE.
Ebay is huge monster making millions in profit every year.
It will not change because IT DOESNT HAVE TO CHANGE !
Ebay and everything it does and all of its ever changing policies are geared towards one thing - making them even more money !
If that means screwing the seller over then they will do that without hesitation because no matter what happens Ebay and Paypal will introduce policy changes that puts more £££ into their greedy pockets.
The other overriding reason why Ebay wont change is because the biggest sellers wont do anything about it.
You see Ebay and its biggest sellers are fully aware of the problems but Ebay knows its Powersellers would rather take it on chin than rock the boat especially if theyre shifting hundreds of items a day and are depending on Ebay/Paypal for their income.
This pushes out the small sellers who are unable recuperate loss incurred by scummy buyers who out to scam and leave negative feedback with no recourse.
I applaud all sellers who have managed sell outside Ebay and Paypal and generated to enough money to keep themselves going but unfortunately for the rest of us were stuck with the corporate evil that is Ebay and Paypal - the simple fact is no one can compete or challenge them !
EBAY KNOWS ALL THIS AND THATS WHY THEY WONT CHANGE!
Infact im pretty sure theyre sitting their right now working on ways to squeeze more fees from their sellers and find other ways to burden them..while at the same time offer even more relief for bad buyers.

Its that simple! Just leave eBay....It is what i am doing! They will get the hint once half of their honest sellers are gone and never to return!

Some guy bought an item, NEVER payed for it telling me to cancel the transaction.
I did, and he then left negative feedback just cause he felt like it!
In the process he also called me a jerkoff for "selling them at such a high price" WHEN HE HAD FCKING COMMITTED TO BUYING THE DAMN THING.
AND GUESS WHAT??? EBAY DID NOTHING!!!!! NOW IM AT 98% AND STUCK FOR 1 YEAR.

I have a buyer who after doing my own investigation I realized was a seller. He sells the same item I was selling one day (tiffany crystal) After looking into his feedback he had only purchased 2 items in the last week or so from myself and another seller. Both were the exact same tiffany crystal holders. (nothing wrong that wasn't disclosed or pictured in the listing) I noticed he left bad feedback for the other seller and for me as well, calling me a fraud and "stealing money". When I contacted him directly I asked why he would do that! He straight up said "I can change my negative feedback.... I would like to hear what you have to say now" He wanted me to PAY HIM OFF!!!!! and for some reason his feedback is in the 4 thousands while myself and the other victimized seller are under 50! So I dig deeper and notice he does this probably every other week! I reported him as many angles as I could to ebay waiting for my feedback to be removed or at least hear back its been 4 days! How long until I know? I had 100% !! WHEN OH WHEN WILL I HEAR BACK AND HAVE IT REMOVED!
