---due to their new policy on banning sales on unopened or ungraded wax packs..?

Where have you seen such an announcement?

If you're not supposed to stick Q-tips in your ears, then what in the hell are they for?

This happened to me as well. It stated that unopened/ungraded policy change, does that mean in the title or all together I have not been able to get any answers?

"....without any refund incidently..."

I find that VERY hard to believe. Perhaps it takes 24 hours for the listing fee credits to get posted to your account, but I highly doubt ebay is forfeiting those fees against you.

If eBay has initiated that new policy, I say it's about time.

Too many people are getting ripped off with ungraded unopened packs.

If it were true, where would EBay make up all the lost revenue from these guys that have been around for years?

It is true. There is a very good and informative thread on the Collectors Universe forum regarding this.

I personally believe it is a good thing. Ebay is overrun with pack resealing scum and eBay is their only avenue to move these junk products.

The only problem I see is that there are a few legit sellers that will pay the price for the scam artists. Not to mention, there are avid unopened material collectors (myself included) that will now have to pay a premium from the few trusted sources that still exist.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. Are they going to ban all unopened material including modern boxes that have the manufacturers seal?

Is GAI the only company that grades unopened material ? if so this might boost there business a little.

So ebay is saying if it is not graded you are no longer able too list unopened material. period.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. Are they going to ban all unopened material including modern boxes that have the manufacturers seal?

Good point Bill , where do yo draw the line?

Pay attention class! The ban is on ungraded WAX packs. Because they can be opened and easily resealed.

Is GAI the only company that grades unopened material ? if so this might boost there business a little.

PSA grades wax packs and most cellos. PSA sends all packs to Steve Hart of BBCE for verification that the packs are untampered with and truly unopened. Steve sends them back to PSA for grading.

At this time, PSA does not grade racks or full boxes like GAI. However, I wouldn't send a 1988 Topps baseball wax pack to GAI for grading. There have been way too many cases of packs and boxes graded by GAI that turned out to be resealed.

We had two items removed as well. A little warning would have been nice. Now there's a big, red policy warning on my account for "trademark violation."

What is the twisted logic behind calling resealed packs "counterfeit"? They're not fake cards. A resealed pack is certainly a misrepresented item, but it's not trademark violation.

What is the point of banning ALL wax packs? Is resealing rampant among the packs worth a buck? I don't think so. I'm certainly not having a low-value pack graded.

You make a good point, the paqrat. eBay should only ban the sale of unopened wax packs that either (1) have a notorious reputation for re-sealing or (2) were manufactured up to a certain year and (3) had some valuable rookie cards.

For example, maybe they should have a cut off rate of 1986 and earlier that you can't sell as a wax pack, but have exceptions like the 1989 Upper Deck or 1990 Leaf (well, Sosa RC aren't worth anything now), etc.

To do an all-across-the-board ban is just plain ridiculous
