Not to rub salt in your wound...but if you knew about all the recent trouble they've had and the deterioration of their standards and reputation, why would you submit anything to them?

Well when I had last talked to Mike Baker in 2011 he had said that this was a NEW GAI and seemed to be very genuine about it. I contacted him because I had a problem with a pack being sent back to me, and the gum had come loose and ruined the pack. So he called me and apologized and paid me exactly what I paid for the pack, plus mailed me a voucher for 3 free pack gradings. So I thought that was very cool of him. Besides I thought that all the problems in the past were mainly with the autograph authentication part of the business.

I also thought GAI was ok until I sent something to be graded on 5-1-12 and today is 8-18-12 and I still do not have it back.  The service was for a 4 week turnaround.  They have not returned any of my emails or phone messages.  I even emailed the CEO Demian Werner and the DIrector of grading Mike Baker and neither one responded.  Do not send anything to them unless you don't want it back.  Read ripoffreport.com and enter global authority to view all the same responses as mine across the U.S..  If anyone is still not convinced look at the Iowa BBB website of all the complaints for them.

That is BEYOND criminal if they are still accepting submissions & are allowed to have an active website w/ no intention of delivering on anything.

I'd be having a lawyer making a phone call demanding my goods be returned immediately.

Why would anyone send anything to Gai? Everything is worth more raw than in one of their holders. And now you won't have to worry about it because you won't have anything at all. I'm very sorry this happened. But it's been a long time since anyone trusted them why are people still using them????

Steve--

That's my point. If they still have a seemingly active, viable organization w/ a website taking in submissions, but have not delivered or responded for several months, many more unknowing people are going to lose their goods & get taken.

Surely some action has been instituted by now to stop them---How can this still be happening???

Frank,

Hopefully at least a few will read this thread and be saved from the scam. That would be cool to be able help even a little. BTW doesn't Ebay still accept GAI as an acceptable authenticator? HA HA HA :^O

What is even more ironic, is over the past 3 weeks or so, Burbank sports cards has listed almost 5000 Global authenicated cards on ebay.  Most all are from Global Authority.

Certainly not accussing Burbank of anything and possibly purely by coincidence, the fact that the timelines of Global's customers not having their products returned and Burbank SC listing several thousand Global authenicated cards are so close is very interesting.

Is it possible Burbank unknowingly acquired a large portion of the Global customer's missing product as part of a bulk purchase(likely not directly from Glodal)?    I highly doubt that Burbank had all of these cards authenticated as they usually only sell raw material.

I wonder if some of Global's customers have checked ebay for their missing product?

Also, the WCCC website mentioned on the Ripoff page appears to be an old website as there are dates of events from 06, so unless the Global CEO bought out yet another company, it does not look like that is where he is headed.

WOW! That would be a real black eye on the industry. People please don't send your cards to any but the big three. (PSA. Beckett, SGC) (In reverse order) ;)

Actually I received all my stuff back about 2 weeks after my original post. I talked with Mike Baker about a month ago and he said they are re-grouping again.

alien--

It's kind of an inside Net54 thing, referring to the 1st time GAI disappeared and the website kept saying they were "remodeling & reorganizing" & would be open on Monday, which never came!

Another repeat performance, I guess!

A word to the wise: I wouldn't be in a big hurry to make a new submission!:^O

I just got back into the hobby recently and sent them some super rare cards the first week of december. They were the #1 grader of Bill Ripken errors for a while when they worked with the 2 guys that have the bill Ripken website so I figured since I had 3 whiteouts I would use them. PSA & Beckett are grading the fakes as real and the real ones come back as altered. I also sent in a Willie Mays and Ted Williams missing the yellow from the printing process.

Now there website just vanished any suggestions on what actions to take to try to get my cards back?

WOW!! Genius: Are there really still people stupid enough to send thier valuable collectibles to GAI/Global? Hey on the up side they're cheaper but on the down side they're never sending your stuff back and if they do they'll be worth less in their holder than RAW. HA HA

People Please!!
