As many of you know I have been unable to update my site for nearly three months now.  I have still been scanning and adding

some very nice items as well as printing and remounting hundreds of pages.  I'm not sure when I will be able to upload to the site and it is starting to drive me nuts.  Just to much to remember and many new additions lost in the pages.  I have been expanding most all of the early European pages. Often expanding one page into three.  The great amount of color and other variations are crowding the Scott Specialty pages badly.   That combined with full size scans I think will make for a much nicer presentation.

It just occured to me that I could do some stamp of the day or page of the day postings like I have done in the past.

Here is a page I recently completed adding 3 of the stamps.

I think it's ne of the prettiest pages out there.

Also I completed the next set of Greek airmails in mint which are also quite beautiful.

Page of the day is the first page for Bohemia & Moravia As short lived protectorate of Nazi Germay, it is one of the easiest and cheapest areas to complete. A total of less than $80 cat, mint.
< ahref=http://mitch.seymourfamily.com/mward/collection/europe/bohemia/bohemia.jp g>first page
Also of interest is the last page of that index. It is not Bohemia Moravia but Carpatho Ukraine. The stamp was sold and valid for only one day, after that day the post office was shut down as well as some wishful thinking.

Todays page is the first from Bolivia
Note: the 1869 500c is a common forgery. Quite crude compared to the originals and is easy to spot by comparing to any in the set.
1st page Bolivia

Todays pages are the first regular issue page and first Airmail page from <a href=http://mitch.seymourfamily.com/mward/collection/samerica/brazil/brazil.jpg >Brazil</a><br>The first set is the second set of stamps issued by a country.  I beleive the #3 is a good forgery.  At least that is what I told the dealer who asked me what I thought of it. For $10 ir's a good space filler and I'd like someone to have a second look at it sometime. The 600r from the seconed set is defintely one of the common crude forgeries of this issue.

Today is the first page for Bulgaria As it happen I just won an auction lot consisting of  the first two pages. The first page shown is the one I have now and the second is the one I won this past weekend. I think they will go together nicely. The last $2K hole will probably never get filled but I've come to learn it would not be a safe bet.

Looks like I'm lagging on the page of the days. Been spending a lot of time looking at some auctions of nearly complete collections that have been split up. A lot of stuff you just never see from a couple of the hardest countries to complete.

Page of the day is the first page from Burma

The original stamps of India that were overprinted for use in Burma can be seen HERE and HERE

Todays pages are from Cameroun.  First one is from the <a href=http://mitch.seymourfamily.com/mward/collection/europe/germany/germcol.htm l>German Protectorate</a> and the second as a <a href=http://mitch.seymourfamily.com/mward/collection/africa/cameroons/cameroons .html>French Colony</a>

Bill I have a small pile of Cambodian SS's, actually more than I care about. Thanks for asking though.

Mitch, Early on I seriously thought about collecting Canada.  I decided that Canada mirrored the U.S. production wise.  I just didn't have the means to keep up with both of them lol..  I do however like the beavers and a couple others. Great designs.  Thanks for the post.

Todays page is the first page from Guatemala I ust completed it today by adding the two stamps in the mounts. theys are both pretty scarce, probably the best exhibit of them is here I've also added a few more to Gatemala today completing the second page as well.

Don I agree U.S. and Canada seem quite similar (at least the later issues). I am basically complete in both of them from 1940 to 1990 but I am so bored with those years of both that I can't bring myself to scan them for my site.

Jsuat added 3 of the better overprints to the first page of Bulgaria, as well as some upgrades to mint. I also rescanned the first 8 pages to show much better detail.

Bill I haven't had time to look into it yet. If you know of any good info sources on the web please let me know. I was thinking about isolating the 15 in PS and comparing to others. The postmark on my other is obscurring it to much. If you could scan yours and post it/them it might prove helpful. btw the #1 appears NH. Many of the other stamps were damaged in the lot inluding dinged perfs and thins. All the ovpt were ok though and the 50 ovpt is a real pip, VF+

Todays page is from Monaco Until a few days ago the page only had a solitary stamp on it. I've also added several other items to Monaco recently and have uploaded much larger scans of the first 8 pages.

In keeping with todays holiday is me favorite page(s) from the United States of America As most of you know it is also my favorite set of stamps. Top imperf set are proofs bottom set the actual issued stamps. The 90 in the Black mount is a perfed shaved proof. I knew it when I layed out the $25 for it but I thought it so pretty I wanted it. The stamp I want more than any other is the 90 cent inverted proof. If anybody has any extras they don't want send me an email. Note: the 24 cent depicts the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Happy 4th!

Thanks to my Latin American collecting buddy I just added many a Panama Air Mail stamp and scanned them last night. Page shown is one of the several that were completed. Look down the Panama thumbnails to the Air Mail section for the rest, some very attractive stamps early on. My Panama collection is really firming up. I need to do some work on the early map sets. Unfortunately I find it hard to get interested them as I do with most all redundant overprint issues.
