Its not a postage stamp and the underlining stamp is not a postage stamp. So its somekind of  China  revenue stamp with someone having fun and games with a rubber stamp kit .

Google is your friend,

It is a Chekiang Province revenue, the reverse swastika overprint means "use limited for World Red Cross Organization".

So definitely not as Paul stated above " someone having fun and games with a rubber stamp kit ". I thought I would copy it this time so that when he deletes yet another post of his misinformation, we can still see what he said.

like I said ------its a revenue  stamp and not a postage stamp ............with someone adding a unauthorized overprint ........doesn't matter what is stamped on the face ,its a private overprint.

The overprint is not the result of some child or adult "having fun and games with a rubber stamp kit "

This is the kind of ignorance typically demonstrated by American/caucasian stamp collectors with no knowledge of both the Chinese language and the use of the swastika in Asia.

The word "swastika" is from the Sanskrit "sw"="good", "asti"=to be, "ka"= a suffix; so the word literally means "to be good".

The swastika symbol is quite fitting in this context, given its association with the Red Cross.

Finally, the overprint was an authorized one.

Dio.  Please do not put all into the same dish as you would with Paul.  As you can see his post was corrected by more than one other poster.  That sir is just plain rude!  BTW., I was taught in high school history class about the swastika and it's use in different cultures from around the world.

Although WE all don't speak Mandarin, there is a concentrated effort in our Elementary schools to teach the language if the child is willing.  My granddaughter (9 years old) not only speaks fluent Spanish, she is currently learning Mandarin.  English is her first language. She is also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).

Like  I said  it is a private overprint , unauthorised  overprint done far away from the area that the revenue stamp was issued at .

Who cares  about the subject ,it is plain and simple not a philatelic item .........just fun and games by some packet maker looking to sell interesting things . .........

"THE OVERPRINT WAS AN AUTHORISED ONE"   can we  see the reference  to your statement  and then you can convince me ,that your correct ..................reference --means a define  source and not some   stamp dealer listing of  something he wants to sell.

This stamp is listed in the Handbook and Checklist of Chinese Revenue Stamps Part 6 by J. G. Wetterling (1999). The basic stamp is a 1920-1930 Chekiang Province General Revenue. He stated that it was overprinted in blue for use by the Red Cross.

Thank you KDT98 for your detailed and intelligent reply letting us know that this isn't just something dreamt up by someone with a rubber stamp kit having fun and games.

Stamps12345 - calling someone a liar is your idea of being civil?

You should try doing a little research before you insult me. The stamp with overprint is illustrated on page 26 of Part 6 and there is no mention of the overprint being of private origin.

Paul calls everyone a liar when it turns out he has posted misinformation on these boards, we all get used to it.
