Could Ebay Have Software Problems that even they cannot understand?

I did everything I could to conform to the new best match system. Stayed up for many many hours to Cancel most of my GTC listings and went 7 to 10 day BIN since I sell multiple like items. Tweeked my keywords to the best of my knowledge and made TRS this month. My sales come and go in batches. Like 15 sales one day and 1 or 2 the next, then 14 sales, then 0. When I'm not a TRS I can sell 8 to 10 items daily. I noticed the Powerseller discussion board comes and goes away just like my sales do. Is EBAY just having major software problems that cannot be remedied? Live help just keep telling me it's the economy. It's funny how everyother day the economy is great.

Yes.

They have been broke in a bad way since mid-july at it seems to be getting worse.

I was going to try to make it through the year but at this point it seems nothing more than a waste of time.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Programming quality has gone way downhill lately.

My 4 year old grandson could do a better programming job than what has been initiated here in this site. But then JD wanted to make sure the "Disruptive Innovation" program stuck so here it is in full bloom!

And over past 6 months I did much better STR when I was pushed into standard rather than high Best Match junk. Go figure! It's just all smoke & mirrors trying to sell & shop here anymore, no wonder most buyers are going back to buying retail in town. Too much garbage to deal with.

They are having problems. Most are not noted on the announcement boards, or are rarely updated.

The reason is for the same nonsense response you received from eBay.

They cannot admit that there are ongoing problems with the functionality of their site when it comes to item visibility. Also, in doing live testing, the same scenario applies. To do so would mean a massive amount of sellers requesting their listing fees be refunded, let alone the legal issues they would face.

In my opinion, that is why they came out with that "reporting issue" in July. They waited until September to even bother posting it on eBay.ca (Canadian site).

It would be up to the seller to prove that there is a problem. Pretty hard to do when they have all the information or come up with an announcement that negates the information you receive that shows otherwise.

I think Ebay needs to go back to hiring English speaking programmers in order to fix this mess
What I don't understand is how things work one day and not the next.
Today's problems;
Watch this item button now takes 4 to 10 clicks before it does anything.
Shipping that is shown in search listing is not shown on item page you get the following instead "See all details"

What won't work tomorrow is anyone's guess but you know it will be a bunch of things.

For days now I can't even get into the site or summary page unless I go out & start over several times like someone else said. And pages take forever to load. ey finally load & come up blank. Or get the error message saying site not responding.

And OP was right. They will never admit they have glitches that are so major that to do so would mean refunds around the room. No wonder we quit selling here 2 years ago. And as someone who also used to buy. I'm pretty much done with that as well since I can't easily find or view perspective sellers items.

eBay, you really mucked it up this time.

What you are seeing is massive corporate fraud on the part of Ebay. Their programming is done in Mumblemouth, India by cow worshippers. The company training manual for so called phone support tells them that in the case of their being asked a techy question they are to put the caller on hold and if they are still there after 15 minutes to hang up. Technical support doesn't exist. I've gone through the floor plans of the headquarters and no such department exits. If Ebay were to admit what a failure they had on their hands the stock would tank. Ebay execs then lose their bonuses. So they lie to the stockholders. At least that is one thing that the SEC can nail them on. If you get any emails from Ebay save them. Record all phone conversations. Keep on the lookout for announcements about class action lawsuits. Show up at Meg Whitman campaign stops with embarrassing signs.

And Yes, Save All Records
There are several branches that find them useful.
What eventually happens will most likely fall on the side of money but you never know when Ebay will tick the wrong Govermental Branch off or get stingy on the backdoor $$$$$$$$$$ and get slapped for it.

Nobody at Ebay understands Ebay, so it's pretty obvious they don't understand their software problems. In fact, the proof is in the way the site functions (or doesn't as the case may be).

This one is my personal favorite.

With (at least) hundreds of thousands of ticked off Ebay sellers in California willing to bend over backwards to legally sabotage Meg Whitman's destined-to-crash-and-burn campaign for office by whatever means necessary, I can't help but think of her campaign as one of the most laughably delusional runs for office in U.S. political history. To say that she has no chance whatsoever is an understatement. I hope if she ever is in a debate, the opponent(s) reveal the truth about her reign of terror at Ebay.
