Ebay has seriouse server problems and they are not tell anyone!!!

Called Ebay this morning after 30+ hrs. of no sales. Got the "everything is OK....nothing is wrong with our servers" I thought that I had done something to tick off the Ebays Gods and they were punishing me. Of course nobody at Ebay told me that everyone else was having issues. Apparently something happened around the 15th of the month as that is when I saw sales....and feedback take a nose dive. I had $8500 + in sales the first 15 days of this month and just over $2000 as of today the 29th...and $800 of that was a local pickup soda machine!!! Not my normal sale item. EBAY, you are not in the business of running your own servers. From what I understand you use to outsorce your servers to companies that actually know what they are doing. Then in 2009 you deciced you could do it yourself. Your site has never been the same!!! Either learn how to take care of your servers running them yourself or go back to outsorcing that part so busuness owners like me can get back to doing what we do best, MAKING YOU MONEY.

even though sales are tanked for many, it appears I am the ONLY one listed dead last still. Is anyone else still showing up last in the listings. I truly think the day I called and bitched at them they flagged my account.

superstarsig,
thank you for checking for me. Not sure where I'm off yet.
jtk
please be careful with your posts, eBay can delete and suspend accounts based on the posts here so try to keep them within the guidelines so we can keep helping each other out with this non-sense. Should you secure representation, you don't want anything on record that will discredit you.
Did they specify how they flagged your account? We're they flagging your account because you yelled at them?
At this point I am thinking that accounts were selected, not just all TRS accounts or accounts in a specific region, to run this stupid business destroying test. Clearly some are on while others are off. I am off somewhere while jtk is on, and I was on when jtk was off. I wonder if they throw the switch when maintenance is done? I don't know. But I do know that it isn't the listings and it isn't the user id rating, it is something specific to the user. The only link I have found so far is that many sellers that are have one of the top 5 largest stores are impacted. I know of at least 2 of the top 5 in my category alone.

I'm glad to see you're getting some sells jtk. Since my phone call 30 hours ago, I've had 4 sales, and some questions, which is an improvement from "0" for July 16-25.

I just don't understand eBay.. Monday I had 5 sales, Tuesday 7, Wednesday 10, Thursday 1, Friday 28. There’s no consistency. I have been dealing with this dilemma since 5/15/12. STOP MANIPULATING THE SEARCHES...

Much worse. We have 1827 current active listings and we're averaging 2-4 sales a day as opposed to the usual 20-30. And they're not the usual items that sell.

So I was trying to do some ebay shopping last night, when I noticed on several ending soon auctions, the photos were disappearing and some listings I clicked on would not open.
Sellers are losing out on sales due to these silly glitches, after they have paid to list their items, items I would have purchased if I could have been able to open the listing!
Also, I have had to sign in and re-sign in numerous times, the site has been terribly slow and search.....horrible.
I even had to re-sign in to this board to leave this message! UUUGGGHHH!

Over 48 hours without a sale and on a weekend no less. Has NEVER happened in all my years on ebay (even when I started and only had 10 items for sale).

amber.bella, can you please report to ebay what happened? A buyer reporting an issue has much more weight than if a seller reports it.

Update:-
We have reported (2nd time) to ebay CS by telephone who have now acknowledged to us that there is an issue with TRS - BIN listings being demoted in the search results in favour of lesser unproven sellers.
We have again been told we have been added to the ebay list of sellers affected by their changes made on the 12/13th July to the search algorithms however we were advised that there is no estimated time as to when / if this will be resolved.
In the mean time we all suffer with dropped/reduced sales. We have made just 2 sales in 6 days!
For us this is unsustainable. Financially, we cannot afford to continue in this way selling on ebay.
Ebay have in reality broken their word, take a look at:
"Top-rated seller benefits"
Ebay say:
" Sellers who meet all the Top-rated seller performance requirements will receive the following benefits:
A prominent badge on their listing
Improved search standing for fixed price listings in Best Match search results "
It is now acknowledged that many Top Rated Sellers (including us) have in fact been placed to the back of search results in place of low rated sellers.
The whole situation is quite disgraceful.

Madmax, I checked a couple of your auction listings since that is where most of your sales come from. You are uniformly toward the bottom of Best Match even though you are TRS.
The only thing that I noticed is the the feedback percentage of other sellers was slighly higher than yours.
IMHO, TRS has become meaningless in search, particularly on the first page.
Of more concern but impossible to prove is the tagging of a UserID with results in ALL of their items being sent to the bottom of search. That's what happened on July 13 but I thought it had been fixed. You seem to be saying that it's still happening.
Anybody else seeing ALL of your items at the bottom of search results? No exceptions. A single exception indicates that it's NOT due to your UserID being tagged.

I had a guy in another part of the country copy and paste one of my item numbers. First time, 0 items found. Second time it came up.
The "new" search is supposed to find listings not based on the current search but what the system has determined to be what that buyer will actually buy. If it isn't implemented correctly, it may just not show items in search even though the buyer typed in a relevant search string.
Think they really broke it this time.

I mentioned a couple days ago that my page views range from almost 0 for several days to a couple dozen for a couple days. This has repeated for at least 2 months.
For the last 3 days, my page views are in the hundreds! Sales were better the last 3 days also. I'm trying to get as many new listings up as quickly as possible before it ends!
