Ebay has seriouse server problems and they are not tell anyone!!!

Called Ebay this morning after 30+ hrs. of no sales. Got the "everything is OK....nothing is wrong with our servers" I thought that I had done something to tick off the Ebays Gods and they were punishing me. Of course nobody at Ebay told me that everyone else was having issues. Apparently something happened around the 15th of the month as that is when I saw sales....and feedback take a nose dive. I had $8500 + in sales the first 15 days of this month and just over $2000 as of today the 29th...and $800 of that was a local pickup soda machine!!! Not my normal sale item. EBAY, you are not in the business of running your own servers. From what I understand you use to outsorce your servers to companies that actually know what they are doing. Then in 2009 you deciced you could do it yourself. Your site has never been the same!!! Either learn how to take care of your servers running them yourself or go back to outsorcing that part so busuness owners like me can get back to doing what we do best, MAKING YOU MONEY.

The name of the new search engine is Cassini and was created by another eBay genius by the name of Williams who is vice president of search and experience. It replaces the current search engine named Voyager. It was due to be launched in 2012 and obviously has been but as usual with new eBay launches, this place goes to heck in a handbasket because no one did their homework before launch. Expect no fixes any time soon and make alternative plans.

Just opened a store on the river yesterday. Put up 10 items that I have on here. Put them at a higher price on the river. Already sold 2 items and they were up for less than a day.

With regard to selling on ebay: some people see viewers and action on auctions, while others are seeing it on the BIN. For those seeing the action on the BIN, are you using Free shipping or are you charging for shipping? I've been using Free shipping, and yet the sellers I see the action on the BIN for are charging for shipping. It just irks me to charge for domestic shipping when ebay will then charge fees on the international shipping if I do. Additionally, I don't get the PS discount on the shipping fees unless they are bundled into the price. UGH! I ordered a book on the river and signed up with two other sites as well. EBay did this to themselves. I had a great little business with them until.....?

Auctions have lots of views, but BIN's are a ghost town for viewers.

Here is a little eye opener for everyone. Put "brass" in your search block. Narrow it to "COLLECTABLE'S". and hit search. Once that comes up change it to "ENDING SOONEST". Then look at all the AUCTIONS that are ending with NO SALES and VERY LITTLE VIEWS. They are all just ENDING with no bids....you can scrolle down through the pages and you also get the buy it now sales but that is normal. It is amazing the amount of Auctions ending without any bids. Just something I noticed last night. THOUGHTS?
As for Buy It Now listings...that is all I do...for the exact reason I just spoke about. It use to be you could put a $50 item up for .99 cents because you KNEW it would at least get to that $50 mark.....the good ol days!!!! Now, your auction just ends with NO BIDS...or you sold that $50 item for what ever you started the auction for!!! Well below it's value. Auctions....not in this economy and definitely not with Ebays site not getting the views for us sellers!!! It is however a great time to BUY on auctions ending soonest.

You people are silly!!
Yep...heard about the river...I'm gonna buy me a boat...wait..I have one that I can't pay for this month...oh...never mind..
Hey...do you know what the best part is about ending all your listings in order to revise them all for the next 30 days so you can hope to get some lookers at your cute inexpensive items?
NO STRESS ANXIETY AND FRUSTRATION ....those emotions come with the blackout periods..you're paying for all these listings and fees...but you're on one day...and then you're off...... and then the anxiety, stress and frustration begins...with nothing listed..it is really PLEASANT! No rolling negative emotions associated with the rolling issues..
I KNOW I'm not making money today with nothing listed....but when you have 1500 plus listings rotating all day every day...and your buyers are down...your sales are down even more...your paypal is down down down...that is very sad stuff..customer service has never heard of such a thing...well, they have...try different approaches with each and every one of them and you'll get some info...there are others....and what's interesting...is the "conspiracy theory" claims are the same...
If things are the same for a group of people...all experiencing the same type of issue...does that make it a CONSPIRACY theory..or does it give one to believe that there is some TRUTH there...
I say TRUTH...
In 10 years, I've NEVER READ or PARTICIPATED in a forum..and somehow here I am...but all I was doing was typing on the search enging Ebay sales down 2012..and found all these discussions that matched my issues and claims...that's all...if it ever goes back to normal..then I'll never read another forum again..

I think their is a conspiracy going on. I think we have Al Queda running eBay into the ground, so our economy suffers, since eBay is helping all those people that are unemployed.

You got 50 cents? I got 50 cents for you and an ONION up the side of your head... leave me alone about the 50 cents as I CAN'T AFFORD TO SPARE 50 CENTS. I could until the end of April..hmmm

You know..it does look like a ghost town here...
Someone had posted about searching for brass and auctions and no bids..so I typed in wide headband..hit ending soonest and auctions only...and boy would I not like to be in that position..especially the china sellers selling for .01 cent and NO BIDS.....looks like a ghost town..except I didn't even see much in the way of tumbleweeds...

I don't know, deals...that might be a good thing...all the big sellers in one place and the rest of ebay for the rest of us. Wouldn't that be grand.
The past couple of weeks my ebay sign in page shows a metro dude selling his stuff...used stuff. So ebay is still encouraging auctions.
Now if the auction or buy-it-now is searchable is a whole other issue.

I'm a top rated power seller, and I didn't get my invitation as mentioned in the article on this page. As a matter a fact, when I ended a bunch of my BIN listings today, as my viewers were non-existant, I received a message that said if I wanted better exposure, I should upgrade my store. Then when I looked up one of the few BIN's I had left on a popular item, I saw that I was still the cheapest and featured prominantly on page 2! Ok, so I'm a PS, have free ship, one day handling, 14 day return, great feedback and I'm on page 2? Really? I can't even rank page one on this item in a best match search for myself when I'm logged in and shipping supposedly to my own zip code?
The other night I tried re-wording and even copying the top best match sellers titles on a listing; I moved up like 3 places. People with no sales and doing nothing that ebay recommends were above me, even if I copied their title exactly.
We're all on our own. If you are going to continue to sell here, figure out what works for you, because it seems to be different for everyone. Some people have seen improvement by charging for shipping vs. free shipping. Some people have seen improvement with BIN by offering auctions on the same items. Some have great BIN but not auctions. And some like me are only making ANY money on auctions. All the best everyone! And keep posting your experiences, so we can know if there is any improvement, etc.

@ *theskyblu* & memories-of-days-past
You're welcome...and I hope the info helps!
From what I'm seeing here...it SEEMS that folks that have created another selling account are having better results versus their old accounts.
I DON'T know why that would make a difference....but knowing software writers like I do....and the continued LACK of QA on such software,,,it doesn't surprise me.
God Bless folks and good luck to all.

I forgot to mention in my post from yesterday, that in looking at my ebay anayltics, I saw that nearly every item (99%) that I had listed dropped to having 0 views on June 1. That is unacceptable. On a positive note, I just had my first sale since May 30. I'm praying that this gets premanently fixed and we can all earn some income again.

rivermandave......do you think an "old" account that I haven't sold on for a while might also work like a "new" account?
I'm wondering if everyone who is having problems has a store? Could that be where the problems lie?
My sales seem to be coming in groups....I had 3 last night within about 1 1/2 hours and nothing again for 15 hours and then had just one sale all day today. Before yesterdays sales it was 40 hours with not one sale.

There is something wrong with the ebay website all right.....when I bring up a list from one of my "saved searches" the whole list of items flashes from being there to just a white screen maybe once every one or two seconds. Can't select any of the items to view their individual page, either. I've never seen this phenomenon in all the time I've had computers, and it's only with the saved searches function. I can start a new search with the identical parameters and get a good list just like always, but when it becomes a SAVED search it now is worthless. What's going on here?

I don't know how to feel about the sales right now. I want to say that things are picking up. I have been getting quite a few days of what would have been normal before April 15th. However, every time I make a statement about things LOOKING to be improving then Ebay hits the light switch again. The other STRANGE thing about my sales lately is that they are all coming in the evening after 7-8pm Eastern time....that would be 4-5pm Ebay Official time. Are the buyer only coming from the West coast after they get off work???? If so, what would my sales be if the server I am on allowed all the time zones to see my items??
I caustiously say things are better with 7,8 and 5 sales respectively for the past 3 days. Keep in mind I had a 38 hour outage before that!!! So??? Who knows!! With luck the tech department will leave for the weekend and FORGET to tune off the server they have me on. Might get a normal weekend which is usually 15-25 sales. We will see.

Just sent a suggestion to eBay using my seller ID and hope they are on this as this Saturday isn't looking too good for sales either.
1 or 2 items bid on our auction page, that's it. We have BINs on and did get a buy yesterday (low priced)but our watchers in My eBay are not there in the ususal numbers.
Will bump this post as often as possible to keep it near the top so others can share their experiences. eBay doesn't monitor the boards anymore though.
I'm happy for OP having some sales. Send us some good luck please.
