UserID no longer pre-filled on sign in page

Oct 29, 2009 8:36 PM
About two months ago I realized that my user ID wasn't pre-filling on the sign in page anymore on any of the three computers that we use for ebay. Then one day last week it was back on all three ... for three days. Now it's not there again. I know this is not a big deal but for some reason it just drives me crazy. I didn't clean any cache -- remember it's happening on three computers -- so I think it must be something on ebay's end. Anyone else noticed this?

Working fine on mine, both IE and Firefox. And I clear cache, cookies, and all temps on a daily basis.

Just DEW it!

Same here. It has not been working for about a week now and was spotty for the past couple of months. Nothing has been changed on my end and my system housecleaning is still the same as always.

Ditto, very annoying. It happens on 3 computers, combination of Linux, Windows, IE and Firefox. It's not me, something changed on the server.

Please fix it.

Yup, same here! I use two different computers, and sameo-sameo on both. It is annoying, but not NEAR as annoying as not being able to enter the tracking number deal!!

It's driving me freaking crazy!
But at least, I'll never forget my user name.

Original post here. Funny thing. I was still sign in on this computer this morning from yesterday when I tried to post here. It made me sign in and my ID was there. I then purposely signed out and right back in. No pre filled ID. It have to be some sort of security thing ebay is doing.

It have to be some sort of security thing ebay is doing.

They aren't savvy enough to do it on purpose.

I was just in My Ebay and finished printing shipping labels and paying for them, so obviously I'm signed in. I go to post this and I have to sign in again. How stupid!

I guess they don't respond to these complaints? Maybe there is a solution?

It is basic web design to read a cookie and pre-fill a form.

Heck it took months to fix the alleged "counter" problem. Can't get any more basic than that.
