Okay, this next post is specifically for Lucky and SD ... in reference to SD's Tread on Seller Central.
(This graphic I'm posting is an experiment, using the Slices Format on PhotoShop. If it doesn't work, I'll try to self report ... but I've self reported a number of posts recently, and Lie-v Whirled hasn't done me the favor of taking them down. So...)
Anyway, I have looked at the Duplicates Page and read every word. To me there is nothing obscure or confising about the rules.
But I decided to make this graphic, because sometime when I lay something out visually, I can find the error in my logic. This time though I did not.
To me it gives the rules for Fixed Price and the Rules for Auctions, and there is only one place where the Rules over lap.
Please tell me where I am wrong.

What I'm saying is that I can see no where, where it says that a Seller CAN NOT list identical items ... one in Fixed Price and one in Auctions (as long as the Auction listing does not have BIN.)
Or to say it without the double negatives:
A Seller CAN list identical items ... one in Fixed Price and one in Auctions as long as the Auction listing does not have BIN.
I realize that this new Policy went in effect on May 28, but to me nothing has changed.
Almost everything new is just basically clarifications, for Sellers who will try anything to get around the Duplicates rule.
The one and only thing, which isn't intuitively obvious is the new rule about Fixed Price and Auctions with BIN (in purple at the bottom) ... the only rule which crosses between the two types of selling.

Someone told me that was ChinalGirl as well.
Is this person stalking/harassing you?
What is this person doing to you?

Well, it began a couple of months ago. I think Lucky will remember that I was attacked totally unnecessarily by TKO### (can't remember the whole ID name right now), who is now yugioh(4 less, or something like that). Lucky responded to her rude post about me that she was being "out of character" or something to that effect. Well, that didn't stop her (and sockit) from following me from post to post and forum to forum making snarky remarks about every post I put up. So, I reported tko### and I told her online that I had reported her for stalking. Never heard another word from her, even after she became yugioh(somethingsomething). I believe yugioh is quitting eBay.
I have had all of them on Ignore and have been really pleased with how that works. I also understand that sockit was reporting all of (at that time) snowflake_burr's posts and she reported him (she is now dustyroadsantiques). I'm not sure how all that turned out as when she became dustyroadsantiques, her total posting persona changed and I haven't really had much communication with her since then, but did hear from her briefly on PM a couple of days ago.
So when tinytoons started rankling me, I never realized it was sockit again, but just put her (him?) on Ignore. But it didn't end there. Everytime I post something, she's in there making snarky remarks about what a bad seller I am, and how I disobey the rules and I'm a bad person, a chicken, etc. Most of the time I don't know what she's saying because I have her on Ignore, but when someone quotes her, I can see what she posted and it's almost always about me and how inept, dishonest, chicken, bad, etc., I am.
So, I reported her yesterday. And when I started the Uh Oh thread today, she posted on my thread - I don't know what she said there as I still have on her Ignore, but I did call eBay T&S back and re-reported her today. They do seem to take me seriously when I report stalking and harassment, so we'll see how it turns out.
Eventually, I will hopefully learn enough to stop having to go to SC at all. I really don't have enough knowledge to participate as an advisor, but I try to absorb as much as I can. SC is dismal and depressing as well as frustrating and "inciting to riot."
I'm thinking that I may just switch to using the two best sources of information I have found on eBay: Lucky and ILR and just go to them with my Qs and forget SC altogether. It's a snake pit nowadays and I intuit it will just get worse.
So now I will echo what everyone else here has said at least once: "Thank God I found PLU."
Again, it's the witching hour, so I'm headin' in.

Dang, girl, one of these days you gotta show me how to do that!
So you say I should upgrade my PS Elements? I'm on 5.0 now, and I haven't begun to scratch the surface on what I can do. I manage now and then to make it do what I need to do. The only thing I never could figure out was how to make a couple of hundred tiny price tags all on one page. I got Picasa to do that, though .
I should go see if I've been pinked again.... nope not today! I was busy though. I hemmed my new pants, made another jeans "grocery bag" for the meat - toss it in the washer if it gets messy! I have about gotten it to a science. This is my fourth one. I only have 2-3 dozen pairs of old holy jeans as raw materials! I am thinking of selling them on Etsy. I have not checked to see if anyone else has something like them.
Going to turn my A/C back on tomorrow I think. It looks like all that 90-something weather than y'all have will get to me then. I think we hit 86 today. The air smelled so fresh too! But my sinuses are all buggered up now . Is the morale improving around here yet?

No that is Sam.
I believe Sam is actually a seller. She just has a borderline personality disorder.
She claims, when she says, "Smart sellers ..." that she is using the Socratic Method to educate newbies (which is everyone in her mind.)
No Tina/Frank/China obviously got burned one too many times by a Seller on eBay, and she hates all of us. It's an OCD kind of thing.
It's almost as bad as UG. "Sellers are always wrong. Sellers are scum. Sellers cause all the problems. Sellers lie." She comes to SC try to make our lives miserable. But to me she's no more important than a fly.

There's something I just learned this weekend ... kind of.
I was trying to contact you through the eBay messaging system, and was having problems.
By accident I clicked on a button that said "Subscribe to SnipeDog."
I only had a vague idea that it would somehow let me follow your posts, if I wanted to look them up.
Much to my surprise, I went to my e-mail about a 1/2 hour later, and all of your posts were there.
In amazement I opened 5 e-mails and it took me directly to each of your posts.
It was kind of creepy. I felt like a stalker.
=============
ANY WHO! I realized at that point, people could have subscribed to me without me knowing it.
And that if TinyToons or BubblyRap had subscribed to your name, it would be really easy for them to see every post you've made, and to follow you around ... even on other Forums ... even here.
Pleasant thought!

Arrrrhhhggghhhhhh! Oh no! Halp! HAAAAALP! How could this happen to me?
I went back to my store after leaving the forums and there it was - a new icon next to my store name "Top Rated Seller." Arggggghhhhhh! How could this happen? I don't want it. I hate it. I refuse it.
I just had an Outreach Team phone tutorial last week and they said that I'm only doing 69% on DC. I smiled. I was SOOOO sure that would keep me from being in jeopardy of TRS. NOOOOOO! Gawduh-mydee. Not me!
Well, this oughta make a VERY interesting thread on SC - the first person to ever FIGHT LIKE HELL to be taken off of TRS!
I can't believe this has happened. WTF! W - T - F!
I once told a Outreach agent that I didn't want to be TRS - ever. They stuttered. I asked what would happen if I ever made it to TRS and requested to be taken off, if eBay would honor that request, and the agent DIDN'T know the answer!
Danm! I thought I was safe. Now I've got to gird for yet another battle. I want to be a non-TRS person, but I don't want to do stupid stuff that would jeopardize my store or my DSRs or FB to do it. If they don't honor my request to have that danm icon removed, I'm not sure what to do.
69% DC - how the aitch-ee-hockey sticks did I earn TRS with stats like that?
I gotta go take a pill.
Cy'all tomorrow.

Slices is a function in PHotoShop, that I don't think is in PS Elements.
What it is for is ... well it's hard to explain in words.
You know how sometimes when you go to the homepage of a website, and you can see that the graphic is loading in sections?
Well that is because if the graphic was just one big piece, something bad would happen.
I don't know what. Maybe it would take a long time to load, or your computer would crash, or it would take up too much bandwidth, or elves would go crazy in your computer.
So what the Slice Function does is allow you to automatically cut up a page into smaller sections. And then it saves it in a way so you can display it seamlessly on the web without having to tax your brain too much.
And the reason why I wasn't sure if it would work here, was because when I viewed it in Preview, it didn't look like it was supposed to. Some of the sections weren't the correct size.
I decided to take the chance that it was Lie'v Whirled's software which was screwed up, and post it anyway.
And voilá! It worked.

SD,
If you have questions about stuff on eBay or Paypal and you do not want to go to SC to get answers then you should pose them right here.
I think that cumulatively we have about 60 years of experience... AT LEAST right here on this thread.
I also think that we have all listed stuff on eBay at least a couple of times in the last 12 months and most of us tend to keep up on what is going on even if we are not actively listing right now.
Besides that there is the trust factor. Lucky is such a gracious host here that none of us even considers getting out of line just out of respect for her and each other.
No one who regularly posts here will stalk or harass you and no one will intentionally make you feel foolish. And if it so happens that you accidentally feel foolish from somethig one of us says then there will be lots of hugs and apologies to go around.
Besides that and not to insult you in the least but if there is something that needs further research outside this thread we have enough of us here that are savvy enough and thichk skinned enough to swat the troublemakers on other threads so that we could do some research for you if needed.
We will be your friends, researchers, confidants, brothers and sisters, protectors and defenders when, where and how you need.
All the resource you can ever need is right here if you do not wish to go to the other threads for help.
Oh, and if you ever find yourself backed in to a corner on another thread just mosey on over here and let us know and we will be more than happy to send in the cavalry!
Of course I can only really speak for myself but I would imagine the rest of us here feel the same as I!

Calm down man.
Why don't you want to be a TRS?
==========
I've been a TRS since the beginning ... since before the beginning. (They used my category to test it before it went live on the whole site.)
The TSR discount is the least important part of it.
One good thing is when I call Customer Support, I get through right away and they treat me very politely.
Another thing is that with TRS, you get better placement.
And finally it probably does instill confidence in potential customers ... even though that actual graphic is so childlike sometimes I could barf.
So what is it that makes you think you don't want it?
The good?? bad?? news is you'll probably loose it again, if and when the 1-day shipping time rule goes into effect.
The other good? bad? thing is that you can tell TinyToons and Bubblyrapper that you're now a TRS ... that you earned it by being conscientious and working hard ... and they can shove it if they don't like the questions you ask.

Oh, and as for TRS. I am with you about displaying the badge. Back in the day you used to be able to turn off the Power Seller badge but still be in the program and I believe that should also be an option with DSR as well because there have been cases where people have admitted to using that TRS badge as a target.
BUT... do not worry about it as you have not even had it very long so just enjoy it now while you have it!

I went from DOS to W2000 to VISTA. Never used XP or 98. I'll probably end up skipping Win7 and go to 8, lol! I've never had a bit of trouble with VISTA. My system has some odd directory locations that appear to be from having VISTA overlaid on top of an original XP machine. I was able to get drivers for my scanner and my printer, and if anything, they all worked better than the old drivers. The scanner has a whole new suite of tools!

I started out on DOS in my administrative career. Went through every incarnation since--from Win 3.0 through XP. I actually still have my XP desktop. It still works, however, the modem died on it, which created a computing emergency, since I am an internet retailer. Kind of difficult to get anything done, without an internet connection. I had to run my business from the public library for a few days. So, I have a back-up computer now. Though it is soooo slow, compared to my laptop, all my tasks take three times as long to accomplish. I never did repair the modem, since I later got a USB Broadband, which I can switch between computers if I need to.
So, I was looking to get a laptop, so that I could monitor my business, without having to be cooped up, in an itty-bitty office. It sits right on my couch, next to me. I got a great deal on my present Compaq system, and like you Burnsville, I have never had any troubles with Vista. Other than software compatability. The only software I actually HAD to purchase was a new graphics/desktop publishing system. I purchased Corel, since it has a photo editing software--Corel PhotoPaint, as well as Corel Draw, in the bundle.
I was doing a bit of research earlier, on the difference between the Windows 7 Home edition, and the Professional edition. As a few of the machines I have been researching, are business models, with Win 7 Professional already loaded. Interesting, with that edition, you can run XP Mode--a partitioned XP Operating System-and it comes complete with a licensed edition of XP.
I checked out Fry's online, as we don't have them in Colorado. I found some similar "value priced" models, as you mentioned at Best Buy. But the processor's don't have enough juice for my needs. I'm a big multi-tasker, so, I've got to have a minimum of 2.3 Ghz, and I really like my full-size keyboard, with the 15.6 screen on my present system.
Those Win 7 reviews, said many users noted that they experienced quicker transitions between tasks, than on Vista. I'm pretty adaptable, so I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, when the time comes to switch.
Perhaps I can procratinate a little longer, with the external mouse. We'll see how it goes....

I have my desktop if I want to kick computer butt! I bought a kick-azz gaming speed system and it's still more powerful than what I need. I just wanted a lappie for travel and to take down to my studio so I could stay in touch, look up my listings, and now look at my Pinterest board where I have shared my stuff with myself, or at least email myself the pics from upstairs.
Now that I think about it, DUH I can see the computer upstairs if it isn't sleeping... I set up sharing with password protection so I can see my stuff and no one else in the house can

Good Morning (((All)))
Moon - I emailed my nephew last night with your post. Here is his response:
Acer is so variable they had to change their name (they used to be known as Packard Bell), also E-machine and Gateway was purchased by them.
Lenovo C, D ThinkPad L*** series should be avoided, for the most part the ThinkPad X and T line-up is excellent across the board. (Note netbooks are netbooks and unless that is the class of system they’re looking for the x1** should be avoided, they (x1**s) are very good compared to other netbooks though)
HP has been having issues with heat lately if they get an HP should avoid systems with AMD CPUs or dedicated Video. The elite series is a good system but maybe outside their price range.
Toshiba Satellites like Acer are all over the place in quality and performance, but unlike Acer it is model by model and they sometimes make an epic system. If they see one they like, they shouldn’t buy it outright but lookup reviews and Google key words like problems + <<model>>, issues + <<model>>, or “how to fix” + <<model>>.
A good place to check the current systems available is http://forum.notebookreview.com/what-notebook-should-i-buy/# .
Hope this helps!

Acer Computers
Acer DID acquire Gateway and it's subsidiary E-Machines but it has never been called or known as Packard Bell.
It DID acquire a 75% controlling interest in Packard Bell, though.
It is now considered a subsidiary of Acer.
Packard Bell made a fairly nice machine back in the day but it did not keep up with tech advances. It now runs the same platform as the current Gateway line in much the same way that HP and Compaq do.

'Mornin' Evbody.
After a very restless night and little sleep, I'm here to get my heart started and to strategize about how to get myself removed from TRS status.
ILR, I agree. I'll probably be removed from TRS soon, but not because of 24-hour shipping (I've always shipped in less than 24 hours - that's what happens when you are a puny seller).
I don't care about the TRS "icon" at all. That's just fluff. It's being an actual TRS store that bothers me. Because all I see on SC are people who have had their TRS ripped out of their hands unexpectedly, and the hardship and heartache it causes them because they have become reliant on the perks.
While I tossed and turned, I tried to think of an example of why I have my attitude about TRS. Suppose I won a brand new, extra fancy Cadillac with ALL the goodies. But when they gave me the car, they said "You can have this car, tax free, but you are only allowed to get in it after you have wiped your feet. And you must never put more than 1 gallon of gasoline in at a time." If you do not follow these rules, the car will be repossessed within 10 seconds." So I go to the filling station every 30 miles or so and I'm doing fine and then one day there is a torrential downpour and I run to my new car with a newspaper over my head and get in it as quickly as possible. Ten seconds later the car shuts off by itself and there's a guy standing at my window with his arms folded across his chest telling me he's taking the car back because I didn't wipe my feet first before I got in.
I would rather never have TRS than to have it be snatched away from me because of some arbitrary rule (policy) that is impossible to adhere to at all times.
I really, really don't understand how I was awarded this TRS status. I have done absolutely NOTHING to deserve it. I DO NOT have a 14-day return policy (I've only had one return ever, but I'll go into that some other time), and I cannot and WILL not adhere to the DC part of the policy because some of the items I sell are less than an ounce and fit very nicely in a #10 business envelope, so I'm not going to spend $1.64 in postage for a bubble wrap envelope with DC, when I can get away with $.45 or $.65 to send an item (w/o DC).
I'm just like everyone else in that if I keep the TRS, I'll get accustomed to having that nifty discount and all the other perks and just about the time I feel like I'm safe, ZAP!, they'll tear it out of my hands without a by your leave, 'cause my business model will never be in compliance with all their rules at all times.
Well, enough crying and whining. I'll be calling them later this morning to find out how to get it pulled now UNDER "MY" TERMS, not theirs.

ILR, I just would like to know EXACTLY what vitamins, minerals, and supplements you take that give you SUCH extraordinary graphic and explanatory skills! Like Marvin the depressed H2G2 robot, YOU have a brain the size of a planet! I SWOON at how creative and smart you are!

I was thinking about Bunn's new id not the Marvin in the book! rrrrobins has always been on the top of the game with PhotoShop and her other graphic skills. You should see some of the fabric designs she has done for the products she makes.
Dell wasn't even mentioned in the writeup?
I had a netbook two years ago. I bought it at Sam's with the understanding that I had a month or so to return it. I thnk it was an HP. I was unhappy with it on most levels. It was too small, and I couldn't read the fonts, and if they were big enough, I had to scroll back and forth as well as up & down. The stupid thing would change the screen resolution on its own when the mood struck it so that I would be reading my email and *POOF* it would swap. It didn't have a CD slot built in although we own a USB CD drive I could use if needed.
I thought for the price it should do an awful lot more. All it did well was be small and lightweight and have a real keyboard. It was about $375 with tax and it had a stripped down OS. For the money, the 14" HP I've had my eye on has it beat. Finally the same price! But I can't cost justify buying anything since the current lappie still works. I'm like that - I have rarely been an early adopter of technology, but have waited for the prices to come down and gone to warehouse sales. My few leading-edge purchases have not been good experiences. I guess that's why my gadget freak friends are always trading out for the newest - it never works well. I'm still on the first portable phone I bought! Well, it was a Cobra, so you can't kill it! No caller id, just works everywhere in my house & yard, and survived a dip in the dishwater.
I'm going to go turn the A/C back on now. I feel the humidity starting to crank up, and I know we are headed for 90 today! Every day I can leave it off I know I'm saving at least $10, even with my new unit. Is the morale improving around here yet?
