{{{Adrienne}}}  Anything is possible but one has to ASK and TRY.

I think Buddy's allergies are getting the best of him.  Give him an oatmeal bath or aloe treatment.  Soothing and not harmful.

clewis, I thought of that, but I was thinking we probably shouldn't bathe him right now because he just had the Frontline put on. Wouldn't that just wash it off?

Adrienne...I think it gets absorbed into his skin.  But I do not know it it would diminish the effectiveness.  So get some aloe gel and rub it all over the itchy parts.  Won't hurt.  Is he on any prednisolone...steroid?

It is all on Vic's shoulders to take our advice and run with it... take our suggestions and apply them.

Your Right!, It's all on my shoulders. It always has been.

Remember when Snipe gave me numbers to call?

Here's my the post.

It's frustrating when you call and hear from different organizations. We can only help with a electric bill. If you have a cut off notice. We can only help with rent, if you have a court order eviction notice. We can only help you with food.

Once you get a court eviction notice. It's totally up to the landlord as to. Whether or not he accepts or deny that payment. So if he doesn't accept the payment. Your out on the street. That's the way that works.

I don't mean this in a disrespectful way. I'm not a know it all. But I have actually been down this road before. I do speak from experience.

My son and I will be in a shelter at night and out on the street. Pounding the pavement by 7am. Day to Day, That's how shelters works around here. That's how the homeless are treated. You get a place to sleep, something to eat. And thank god you got that much. But don't expect them to hold your hands. That's not happening.

Buddy had been on Prednisone. I hadn't thought of that. They stopped it a while back to see how he'd do, and he was great for months. Just started back up with the biting a few days ago.

My allergies are much worse in Fall. Maybe his are too? I'll check about putting him back on the Prednisone.

Thank you ((((clewis)))). I feel much better. :):-x

{{{Adrienne}}}} Pred is a miracle worker...but must be used only when absolutely necessary.  The side effects can be harmful.

I use them when itr appears to have taken ove normal behavior...constant constant licking or scratching to the point of bleeding.  You might have to get a prescription but use it sparingly.  Take the edge off but keep in mind the side effects which are thirst and hunger.  Poor Buddy!:_|

Vicky, glad the stress test is behind you. Sounds like the things you had with that are some of the same things they said I might get when I quit smoking. Fun and games. :(

Oh wow...I thought you had said your sister only had a sprained ankle and broken ribs. I didn't realize she had broken bones in her leg too. I agree with you, I doubt she'll be home today.

That's what my sister told me at first. Broken ribs and a sprain ankle. Come to find out it was more serious then she thought. Until the doctor told her what the Xrays showed.

I only found out about the surgery yesterday from my younger sister.

Drive by posting...

Been down in the sewing room - talking to my MIL and sewing bags. I am turning into the bag lady. Ack.

Now I have to get cleaned up - see Dr. at 1:40 - follow-up from June's appt. when he tried to scare me with the 'you must have cancer' schtick. I have a schtick for him... May be looking for a new doctor by 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Okay, so everyone behave themselves and continue to assemble peacefully until I get back.  Then, we riot.

Vicky....I have had you on my mind for the last 24 hrs.  I must get this off my chest.  So take it in or blow it off...your choice but you keep putting personal information out here....expect reactions~

I do it to get it off my chest, To vent. Believe me, I take No Offence to what others say. I don't bruise that easy. I have tough skin.

You haven't even tried...based on your posts here.  You just state that you HOPE they don't expect all of the normal standards.

Yes, I'm afraid if they want those things. I can't not provide them. Please never assume I'm not trying. I don't tell all, Just bits and pieces. When I'm frustrated and I want to pull my hair out. :^O

ALSO....millions and millions of people are upside down and filing bankruptcy and have gone tru forecloser.  These people still find rentals....even with BK's and Foreclosures.

I can certainly relate to that. I was one of those millions that's lost their home to forecloser. That's how I end up moving back here when that happen. I rented the biggest Uhaul I could drive without have a CDL. My sisters and I loaded it up and moved on. Never looking back.

And finally and the most important issue.....YOUR SON.  If you ALLOW yourself and he to become homeless and live in the van.  Who's gonna drive it to move it from here and there because believe me...you will not be allowed to stake a place without being reported and ticketed and towed away.

That I'm aware of.  I'm working on a solution. I'm trying to come up with a plan of action.

YEH..your meds say don't drive but sweetie..YOU are in survival mode.  You will have to to avoid unlawful loitering.  So be unlawful now and be proactive. If the meds are working....get moving! Drive the dang van and find a new place that is affordable even if it is one room.

My doctor is the one that said I couldn't drive. Not the printed words on the prescription bottle.

But hey, I got to do, what I got to do. I know that.

Here's the last kicker.....if you allow yourself to become homeless.....your son will be too.  Social services COULD take him into foster care. Do YOU HEAR ME...You could lose him!

Guess you don't know. My son will be 18 next month. I would give my life for my son if that meant he would have a better life. I truly mean that. It's a good thing I don't have a life insurance policy.

I truly, truly am not saying these things to hurt you but to open your eyes on how you are so tetering on disaster.  Go for broke....ask people to for than what you think they would NOT accept....current LL and future potential ones.  You have nothing to lose except your son.

I am praying you get a break.  You just need to open up your mindset.  Again God Bless You!

From the bottom of my heart, I Thank You. :)

Just know,  I meant no disrepect towards you or anyone else here.

I will certainly tone down my responses.

Not sure if you're still around, but clewis, I did find a bottle of Prednisone from a few months ago, when we had done a trial to see if Buddy still needed it. At that point he didn't. I gave him one, and we'll see what happens. My question is, do you think that if it works, we should cancel the appointment for tomorrow with the vet?

In some people's eyes...Being a "Bag Lady" is a compliment Pins:-x;)

She who creates purty, functional satchels...

I'm all in for a RIOT--if it will entail a riot of colorful fabrics on display.   :-p   Or some flavor of humor...that is a RIOT.   Yoo Hoo...Have2:-x  Toneee:-x  ????

Got a late start on my walk this morning.  I need to stop getting on the computer before I put on my walking shoes.   I am so easily distracted.

My walking trail, is a fitness path, and there are fixtures along the way, for exercise, like hanging rings, chin-up bars, a balance beam, and so forth.  Most of which are completely useless, for my pathetically weak upper body.  There is this one contraption, which is called the "hand walk"  though.  It sort of looks like parallel bars.  And you are supposed to hang from the bars, and carry yourself across.  (monkey bars for grown-ups?)   Anyway, I cannot accomplish the hand walk either, but I have been using these bars for stretching exercises, after my walk.  And doing some isometric exercises for my upper body.    Which I certainly felt in my muscles the last time.

Anyway...I just wanted to offer you some encouragement Pins:-x, as I know you have been going to Curves.   I have been reading from my own library, and came across two seperate studies, in completely different books.  With regards to patient studies Tufts University conducted on weight training.  And it showed that women who combined weight training, with a diet, lost 44% more fat, then those women who dieted alone.

And then in Deepak Chopra's book, Ageless Body, Timeless Mind, he relates another study, in which Tufts Gerontologists took a group of the frailest residents at a nursing home and put them on a weight training regimen.  Within eight weeks, wasted muscle had come back by 300%, balance and coordination  improved, and overall a sense of active life returned.  Some of the subjects had not been able to walk unaided, could now get up to go to the bathroon in the middle of the night by themselves, an act of reclaimed dignity that is by no means trivial. What makes this accomplishment truly wondrous, however, is that the youngest subject in the group was 87, and the oldest 96.

Pretty awesome huh?

Just sharing some inspiration....now, perhaps I should go dig my weights out of storage, and work on building some of my muscle back.  Since, I cannot rely on steady book sales, to suffice, as my weight lifting, on a regular basis.   Maybe I should stack weights on top of a box which holds my cigarettes?  :^O

And you didn't mention what "kind" of cancer your Doc is scaring you with Pins:-x   I would hate to see you go through the Ducking Foctor routine, that TempestGrace recently had to contend with.  :_|

That natural medicine Doc I mentioned before, Jonathan Wright, has a clinic in your geographic area, called the Tahoma Clinic.   In the event you wish to check him out for yourself.  www.tahoma-clinc.com

Ta Ta for now...my friends on the PLU:-x.

adrienne, giving him the medicine today will affect him before you see the doctor so the doc won't have a good idea of what's happening. BUT if he stops chewing & scratching, then you will need another scrip.

One of my GF's from college is here! I just talked to her. I have not seen her since 1982 or maybe 83 when she moved to Australia. She worked for 20th Century Fox in marketing for 20+ years. Wow, what a great career! Looking forward to seeing her!

Adrienne...I would never tell you to not see the vet.  Even a Veterinarian would not say don't come in.  Its always better to be sure.  10 -1 its just a flare up of allergies but see how he's acting tomorrow and then make that decision.  Try the aloe or a soothing bath and see if it is soothing for him.  If so....its probably allergies.

I'm back.

Now he wants to do an UPPER GI/ENDOSCOPY. I said NO! Actually, what I said was - let's find out if I'm still ANEMIC before we schedule ANY MORE TESTS... amazingly, he agreed. So he the lab draw some blood to check for anemia, iron levels and double check my TSH (thyroid) now that I'm not self-medicating with an extra half a pill.

So should know in a day or so what those tests are and will have to go from there.

Moon - he said that anemia=colon cancer so I needed a colonoscopy. But, that didn't prove true since the dr. who did the colonoscopy said everything looked perfectly normal in that end. I think he's on a fishing expedition. But, the lake has now clearly put out a 'no fishing' sign...and I'm not taking it down until further notice.

And that's that...and I think we should have a riot of color! and fabric! I stopped at JoAnn's... well, actually, I went to JoAnn Fabrics on Monday - and got a couple things I needed and they gave me a 30% off total purchase card, but I had to use it by Friday. So stopped in today and used it - on Halloween fabrics. And I'm gonna make some treatbags for kids - that I can sell inexpensively at the gift show...which is in 3 weeks and I am in a lot of trouble if I don't redouble my efforts in the sewing room...

So that's where I'm off to - right now.  Have fun storming the castle!....

What BS! One of my seller buds was anemic for months & having excruciating headaches as a result. Finally when she started throwing up blood they found she had a bleeding ulcer. Anemia can have a hundred causes. If you are "going through the change" and bleeding heavily... For that matter you could have cancer someplace else! Colon cancer? What the hell is he smoking? Fire that doctor. If he hears hoofbeats he's thinking zebras.

However, you should have a colonscopy if you haven't had one. The worst part of that for me was trying to swallow all the prep liquid as fast as they wanted. I believe that they are "free" now die to Obamacare, but only one every few years. Free means that they raised your insurance premium enough to cover it, like Free well baby care means they raised your premiums enough to cover that too. Ditto Free mammogram. Harumph. Free indeed! Someone I know needs another colonoscopy this year as a diagnostic but her insurance says she can't have one that close to the last one. (insert eyeroll) I suppose if you have a mammogram and develop a lump in your boob a month later, like one of my friends did, then you can't have another one.

Morons.

Men.

OK I see now that you had a colonoscopy with nothing wrong.

Geez. I need a new doctor but all of them that I had talked to were pompous idiots.

You may just be low on iron etc from slowing down with being active and not eating as well as you may have in the past. We've all been programmed to think that red meat will kill you as will fats, and we need fats to dissolve some of our vitamins, and we need the iron from the meat. Pasta is not a health food! With what they've done to corn, I'm about afraid to eat anything made from it anymore.

Oh Sheesh... Well, duty of care, being what it is, yes, anemia "could" be a symptom of colon cancer   Anemia isn't always related to iron defiecy though, and anemia can be a symptom of a lot of other things, like bone marrow not creating enough red blood cells.

Don't know what "other" symptoms you are presenting with, that would indicate to him that he needs to go on a fishing expedition, in your upper GI.

Hopefully, you have more information when your blood results come back.

Share some pics of what you are sewing if you get a chance.  We haven't seen any "shiny things" in a while now.  ;)

Burns, doctors can definitely be morons. I was having heavy periods that lasted from 2-4 weeks, with only a week or so break in between. They decided I was anemic ONLY after I went to the hospital and checked myself in, thinking I was losing my mind because THEY all said it was just the panic getting worse.

((((Pins)))) I do hope that your doctors get their act together. Oh and I'd be honored to be a bag lady, if it meant I could create the beautiful bags that you do. :)
