on a side note:
I'm glad that I've had the opportunity to have attended Daytona 500 in person twice. (before tandem racing!) we were at the Dale & dale show. that was awesome...
After seeing the wrecks at Daytona this weekend, I've got to give a shout out to the "soft walls". some of those hits would have been alot worse in past years.
and I cant believe they cleaned up the 8 lap to go wreck in time to go racing without a G,W,C finish.
Way to Go Smoke!

monday morning thoughts:
thoughts & prayers to those involved in the colorado tragedy.
thoughts & prayers for those involved in the Penn State mess.
thoughts & prayers for those in Philly dealing with the major water main break. what a mess.
and to those idiots on my street who left trash all over the front street in front of my house, thanks alot. I missed my train because you and your kids have no respect for other people.
And yet, I know I'm blessed! I still have a job, even if it is on the chopping block; I still have my home, even if there are back taxes I need to get together quickly, more than I thought; and I still have my DH, as crazy as he makes me at times, he is still fighting the dreaded C and hanging in there.
and, in keeping this post On Topic,
how about that race yesterday at Chicagoland! whoot!

Thank you for your concern. We were on our way home and were out of the area before the storm hit. Wore the Jeff Gordon shirt my youngest son got me at Dover. Happy Jeff won but it was a very bad situation with the lightning strikes.

I will be ***down the shore*** tomorrow for the Atlantic City Air Show. Yippee. hopefully the weather will be okay. they are calling for rain tomorrow afternoon. boohiss...
Monday I have Jury Durty at the county courthouse.
If I dont get picked, I'll have to time get to see all my former co-workers from the law firm.
So, more time away from work... yippee...

Had a great day in AC on Friday. The weather was good, a little overcast, but a nice breeze. AirShow wasnt as good as last year, IMHO, but still a very good show.
Quality time with hubby is always fun. Wish he had used some sunscreen but he didnt burn as bad as last year.
was dismissed from Jury Duty yesterday so had time to do stuff around the house that I've been putting off for awhile.
back to work today.
I could use positive vibes, good wishes, prayers, etc. for Noon today E.S.T. as I have a meeting that may affect my future career. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Happy and sad at the same time.
Got the new job offer, 
but hate  to leave present job at "official fuel of nascar". But with the company issues being up in the air, I had to look out for my future and not wait till the chopping block hit our department.
my last day here is the 14th; start new job at law firm on 17th. Turn 55 on Saturday the 22nd.
I hate change, but its really a great opportunity. Meet new people, learn new stuff.
Will still be in the City and still close to the train station.
Will miss all the great Nascar perks from this job, but it hasn't been the same for the past couple of years.
So Happy September! Happy Tuesday. Have a great day!

enjoyed my last event as a Sunoco employee.
