Discussing and Reporting Member-Specific Activity
Apr 17, 2007 11:40 AM
In recent weeks, I've made a number of posts and updates to address some questions and concerns regarding the discussion and reporting of member-specific activity. There seems to still be some confusion about this, so I thought it was time to make a more specific post.

We appreciate the concern that Community members have for each other. And we appreciate the time that Community members take to report concerns about listings, accounts, etc.

It is important that this concern being directed to the appropriate place. Per the Board Usage Policy, the forums are not the place to report member violations. The Board Usage Policy does not distinguish between types of violations and issues - whether the concern pertains to listing policy violations, transaction-specific issues, or account security related concerns.

All discussion and posts need to be within the Board Usage Policy guidelines. Please review the Policy Explanation board for additional guidelines and clarification of the Board Usage Policy.

The manner in which accounts or listings are referenced is less important than the reason why they are being referenced. If it is being used to report a violation, then search strings, item titles, item descriptions, links to other threads with reports, etc. are also examples of posts that are likely not appropriate in these forums.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely,

Avery
