I reported a policy violation using the report link on a policy page.

Here's the response I received:

please file a report with us. Here's how to do that:

1. Click "Help" at the top of most eBay pages.
2. Click the "Contact Us" link on the left. You may be asked to sign in.

3. Select the "Send us email" tab. Select the options that best match your concern.
4. Enter your message in the space provided.

I don't know, as I don't report very many things. We will have to see if this is a trend. If they don't take reports through the policy links, they should remove the links on the policy pages.

This is a cycle with eBay. They make it difficult to report things, then make it easier, then make it difficult again. I think we may be seeing the transition into 'difficult' again.

I just think it is quite 'humorous' that they would reply that way to a report sent to them through their own reporting system.

Worst time of the year for eBay to make things "more difficult" with such a short time frame for the holiday shoopers here on eBay.

I just think it is quite 'humorous' ironic that they would reply that way to a report sent to them through their own reporting system.

NSS , it is an autoresponse of course based on key words in your orginal email.
At least she did not inform you of how to change your password (chances are you may have had that response many, many times before)

eBay replied 3 days later:

"I forwarded your email to the team that specializes in situations like this."

No apology or excuse. But they did say:

"You should be hearing from them soon, although during busy periods it may be up to 72 hours."

I've had mixed responses to my reports. It definitely taking longer than it did before for ebay to investigate and do anything on obvious violations. I do notice changes in sellers I reported a week or more ago. Either they are no longer listing with the violation or they have been suspended.

ebay is taking forever to get to things but if you watch sometimes they do take action. Of course that could be because others have noticed and reported as well.
