Make sure check expiration date before you take vitamin~!

Nov 3, 2009 12:07 AM
I got two expired bottle Herbalife Mutivitamin from this seller (vitamindiscount). I checked with Herbalife distributor, .all the Herbalife products expire 2 years after manufacture, they can last an additional 3-4 months longer after the date. The items I got were way longer than that. No response from seller until I left negative feedback. ( This is the second time I left negative feedback in almost 9 years.) He blamed me to leave him negative feedback casue this is just a normal mistake~ He offered lowest price, and new sealed product... Warned me two times
don't buy from his store again... Nothing about how to fix the problem, or apologized for his so-called mistake. If lowest price+sealed product= Expired item, I won't buy it even it's free. He tried to take a chance to sell expired items cause most people don't know how to tell expiration number on the bottle.( It doesn't show a date) I can accept a mistake if it's just expired, but it's expired a long time ago. Why he keep expired items, and ship them? This seller is very rude. He didn't care about that at all. I reported it to Ebay, and filed a dispute by paypal. $25 is nothing, but what happened if somebody take those vitamin without knowing it's expired items. The last thing I wrote to seller, goes around comes around. Hope he won't keep doing that again~!!!

Probably nothing. We're not talking about milk or raw chicken here.

It is good that you gave appropriate feedback to your seller to let other members know what you experienced.

Seller's FB shows a history of the selling expired items. see link

This should be a matter of personal choice. I buy expired stuff all the time, never had a problem, not once. In many cases the Expiration or Sell By date is a marketing tool designed to keep mew merchandise flowing by forcing store to discard out of date items.

HOWEVER!!!!!: A seller listing out of date items should be required to list them as such and show pictures of the label with the date visible so the buyer can be aware of it and make their own choice.

PIPI30 the feedback comments you left stating "Paypal dispute" may qualifyto be removed by Ebay at the seller's request:_|

Link

Next time just state the problem and don't debate the seller's comments as a he said /she said.;)

The listing did not state the expiration date of the item. That should be stated in the auction.

If not stated, you should be asking before bidding to save yourself the grief of having to file with Paypal and return at your cost.

Ebay's policy state "Over–the-counter (OTC) medications, vitamins can be listed as long as:

The packaging is intact and the item hasn't been tampered with

The item can be delivered to the buyer before the expiration date

The item has been stored safely according to storage directions on item's packaging

All healthcare and personal hygiene items must be delivered to buyers before a clearly marked expiration or "use by" date. All listings for these items are required to show the expiration date in the listing."

Report the auction to Ebay on the link in post above.

None of the seller's 186 auctions for health products contain the required expiration date.:(

That's right. Maybe somebody like to buy expired items at lower price, but I don't. If I knew that, I won't buy it even it's free!!!

I wish everybody can see the emails he send it to me to judge what kind of seller he is. This seller is very RUDE. He admitted it could be expired items, because of I left him a negative feedback, so this transaction is final. He didn't even want to give me a good excuse, or offered return for refund. Told me two times don't buy from him again in first mail, said he'll block me in the future in last mail. I wonder why a bad seller can block a good buyer on Ebay? Is that possible.( I never sell stuff here~*_*)
I never left negative feedback even sometimes I am not satisfied with the item I received. This is my first time buy health care items from Ebay. I learned a lesson from this, and thanks for advices~^_^

Good for you. Your negs make it a definite pattern that he sells some expired stuff. You'll be out the cost to ship them back but that shouldn't be too much. Make sure you get delivery confirmation. At least you'll get your original payment back.
