Is this basket Victorian?

Hi all, I would appreciate any help at "dating" this basket. Would it be considered Victorian? Also, would it be considered a "sewing basket"? It measure about 7.5".

I don't suppose the "coins" are real, but thought I should ask on that as well. Found at an estate sale, I guess no one wanted the hair. Is there any market for "antique" hair?? Thanks in advance for all your kind assistance. ~essay7

Don't know about the hair but it's an Asian made sewing basket...the "coins" have Chinese lettering. I wouldn't list or call this Victorian. Search Asian or Chinese Basket on ebay or google it.

I have had many of these. Date early 1900's. Asian, yes. Japanese I think. They were very popular as small sewing baskets. Often decorated with coins and small carved jade objects, many carved bracelet shaped pieces made of jade. My grandmother and her friends all had them. They do not bring much money. Only really sell well in good condition.
