I think it is a TV lamp. I have a horse's head lamp which says Underwriters' Laboratories, inc. Inspected Issue 23100. My dad gave it to me in around 1958 to be used as a lamp to "redirect" the light from the television which was thought to be harmful to the eyes. Let me know if you find out anything. My email address is Reneseven@aol.com
Thanks!

Underwriters Laboratories was/is an independent company that certifies electrical items for safety.
They are not the makers.

You both need to post photos over on the PGP board where the lamp experts hang out. They are very friendly and knowledgable there!

UL certifies the electrical components. You will find a UL sticker on almost every lamp sold in the US. They do not make anything.

I think you are both talking about two different companies. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. made the electrical parts for the lamps that were sold for various companies.

Okay, So my understanding is that there are 2 companies?
One is just a company which is involved in the electrial of a lamp or what ever it may be and attaches it's label with the issue no. that they worked with???? Not understanding this.....

Underwriters Labratories (UL and ULC in Canada) certify the safety of many things.

For example if your woodstove is not UL certified your house insurance is not valid.

I have a lamp with the same info on it. Mine is a frosted type glass with a flower design on both sides. Only my lamp has a label on it and it says Hand Crafted-France. No maker name, but at least it says that it's made in France.

Ooops! I work for, rather I'm an aide, for idahosmithfarms, please delete this because I sure can't find a way to delete it.

Actually some guy went off topic concerning this Underwritter Laboratories Lamp with something about his dog's name, I typed, hey! guess what I FORGOT I WAS LOGGED IN.

Please delete, sorry about that. Won't happen again. Again, I just work for them, so it was really not idahosmithfarms owner posting this.

I also have a a ceiling light (I assume) from Underwriters Laboratories. Its # is c-274430. When I looked it up, the light that was shown was completely different. The light that I have looks like it is made from tortoise shell. The only markings that I can find are on the base. Anybody have any information that would be useful?
