Welcome to the Want It Now Brown Bag Lunch. Since Want It Now launched, over one million posts have been created by buyers. We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback from buyers and sellers on how we can make Want It Now even easier for members to use.



As most of you know, we recently introduced some enhancements to Want It Now.



For Sellers:


Sellers can now create Favorite Searches of Want It Now posts. This will quickly allow sellers to see whether a buyer is looking for an item they may have. Plus, sellers can choose to receive an email whenever a buyer creates a Want It Now post that matches what they have to sell.



We’ve also heard from sellers that you would like to know when one of your sales is a result of your listing being used as a response to a Want It Now post. You should now be seeing a note in your End of Item email when your listing sells because of a bid from Want It Now.



For Buyers:


After creating a Want It Now post, buyers are now shown items that are currently on eBay that may match what they are looking for.



We’re also made a few general additions to Want It Now. We’ve adding a “Report this post” link on all View Post pages to make it easier for you to let us know about posts that violate Want It Now policy.



Later this year we're planning on making more changes designed to help buyers describe the items they're looking for. These will include features such as giving buyers the ability to include pictures, and allowing sellers to ask questions about the desired item.

The best thing I like about the new changes is being able to ask the buyer questions or get more of a description of what they are looking for because sometimes their needs were not very specific.

Joe, do you have a more specific time frame for the changes that will be later this year? October, November, or December?

In terms of timeframe, I'd say November.


And I do agree with you that a lot of Want It Now posts need to be more specific. We've added better language on the page where buyers create their Want It Now post with tips asking them to be more specific and the types of information they should include. You should these tips right now if you create a post.


With the changes that are coming out at the end of this year, we will be letting buyers add a picture to their post which should help a lot.


I know the team would love to hear if you have any thoughts on other ways to help buyers be more specific in their Want It Now post.
