As many of you know, Blackthorne released the week of October 17th after many months of beta-testing the product. Since the launch we have been continuing to improve the product for our users, reading your feedback and responding to your issues.

How is Blackthorne different from Seller’s Assistant?



When we designed Blackthorne, we made the following key improvements:



1. Improved user interface

- Blackthorne uses fewer windows for easier and more efficient navigation.

- Sellers can view multiple records in a grid while viewing record details on the same screen, and edit content directly in the grid view.



2. Improved listing features

- Sellers can input data quickly with field presets.

- WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) description editor makes formatting listings as easy as using a word processor.

- New ad templates can include boilerplate content and item variables, as well as visual themes. All items are updated automatically when templates are updated.



3. Bulk email and bulk Feedback now included in Blackthorne Basic



4. Better support for sellers with multiple eBay businesses and employees

Blackthorne allows different views and permissions for different individuals.

The new archiving capability improves performance.

Why did eBay decide to change Seller’s Assistant?


Following feedback from our users and our desire to make Seller’s Assistant better, we decided to redesign Seller's Assistant with the goals of making it easier to use and to provide more powerful features to our sellers. We also wanted to build a product that could easily scale to meet the growing needs of our high volume sellers. In addition to our desire to make Seller’s Assistant better, we also wanted to make sure we retained all the time-tested features of the original Seller's Assistant products.

Hello and thanks for the chance to have some input and ask questions.

Is there or will there be a capability of seeing item sales success ratios in a spreadsheet or list form, so that they can easily be ranked or compared to each other? SAPro has only a sales history screen view for each item, that must be accessed one at a item time (an extremely slow process) and there is no way to view the top selling items, next best sellers, worse sellers, etc., all together in a list form. We would like to have this help in reordering product that sells well.

When will I be able to use Blackthorne to list on the UK, Canada and Australia?

The ability to list on UK, Canada and Australia is planned to be released next May. We will begin beta testing it January or February. If you are interested in participating in the beta, keep your eye on the Blackthorne Discussion Board early next year.

I have tried the product and have had many problems. It seems full of bugs. But, specifically I cannot seem to get a list of my inventory items showing how many are currently listed of each one, and which ones have zero listed. I have this on Seller's Assistant pro. Can you help?

1. I have two questions. My slide bar as I go down my listings is very slow, very different from SAPro. Actually it is sluggish and sometimes jumps back to a random spot in the listings. Am I doing something wrong or do I have my settings wrong? 2. When I am setting up my ad templates, the messages for shipping (which I want to vary from template to template) dont stick. The latest edit I make to the message for a different template seems to apply to all templates. I think I must not understand what the templates do. Again, different from SAPro

Linda,

Currently, you can use the QuickLink feature to highlight a number of item records and link to the associated sales data. This QuickLink mimics the Sale History feature in SA.

We currently don't have a way to report on multiple items comparitively, but we'll add this to our request list for a future version.

When you update your data to get the tracking # of your shipment why doesn't it go ahead and put actual shipping in for you? That would save some time

If I am already subscribed to Seller’s Assistant, do I have to pay a separate fee to use Blackthorne?

No, you do not need to pay a separate fee to use Blackthorne. If you are a Seller’s Assistant Basic subscriber you can use Blackthorne Basic for free. If you are a Seller’s Assistant Pro subscriber you can use Blackthorne Pro for free. Simply download the relevant product.
