What is eBay My World?

A My World page complements your About Me page and enables you to showcase your personality and interests by combining many of the features already available on eBay. Think of My World as your place to show the rest of the eBay Community who you are on eBay. You can customize your page's look, layout and content through a variety of available features and modules.

How do I access My World?

You can access eBay My World at Link. You can click the ‘Get Started’ button and, once logged in, start customizing your My World page. You can also go directly to your My World page by entering the URL into your browser:

Link (enter your user id)

Then - beginning in mid-October, you'll be able to see a member's My World page whenever you click on their User ID from anywhere on the site!

What Modules are available?

• Feedback – Feedback will always be prominently displayed atop My World so that you can quickly see the transaction history of each member.

• Listings - Display your current listings and customize how they appear on your page.

• Photo or Icon - Show the world your face! Upload your own personal photo or choose from over 30 icons to represent you.

• Bio - Provide a description of yourself, your interests, your selling policies or anything else you want to include. You can also create search tags that make it easy for other members to find you.

• Reviews & Guides - Reviews & Guides are a great way to share your opinions and demonstrate your expertise. Showcase your Reviews & Guides on your My World page to gain new readership.

• Blog - Whether you blog for fun or for business, you can attract readers by including your latest eBay Blog posts on My World.

• Store - eBay Stores sellers will have their own Store module with customizable promotion boxes.

How do I get started on My World?

You can access eBay My World at Link. You can click the ‘Get Started’ button and, once logged in, start customizing your My World page. You can also go directly to your My World page by entering the URL into your browser: Link (enter your user id).

If you haven’t set up your My World page before, you will have a default My World page that is determined by your activity on eBay. You can customize the page though using the two buttons in the orange header: “Add Content” and “Change Layout”. The first button allows your to turn different modules on or off. The second button, allows you to change the appearance by setting the number of columns (two or three) and where each module appears.

You can also customize particular modules by clicking the “Edit” link in the upper right corner of each module. Each module can be customized differently.

Will About Me pages continue to exist?

Yes – if you have an About Me page, your ME icon will appear atop your My World page! About Me pages remain very important to eBay and important to our users’ ability to express themselves (of course we encourage you to create one if you haven’t already!). Additionally, About Me pages are different than My World in that you can code your ME page with custom HTML, etc.

What is the roll-out plan for eBay My World?

We are launching My World in two phases:

Beginning last week, My World was available for customization. To find your My World page, visit Link and click the Get Started button. Each member will have their own URL at Link[yourUserID]. We encourage you to start experimenting – play with different designs and features to see what you like!

Next, in mid-October, you'll be able to see a member's My World page whenever you click on their User ID anywhere on the site. The page you see when you currently do so – the Member Profile page that mainly features their Feedback – will still be available when you click on someone's Feedback score.

We'll update you here on the Announcement Board when we’re close to this phase.

What do you find most exciting about My World?

Like the homepage says, eBay My World lets you:

* Customize
* Personalize, and
* Share

Most of all – I think eBay My World is a lot of fun. I like seeing user’s photos, listings and content – and I like sharing my own!
