Lots of socially-conscious members are talking about which companies and products are the most responsible…and which need to clean up their act. Weigh in on the brands you know here:

Product (RED) at Gap: Does it really help people, or is it a big marketing ploy?

Socially- & Eco-conscious Beauty Products: What do you look for? What socially- and eco-conscious standards do you look for in beauty products? What are your favorite products that make a positive impact on people and planet?

American Apparel: Hot or Not? One member writes: “I love that they sell sweatshop free items, they're up for promoting immigrant rights and they also promote environmentally friendly practices ...but...I'm kind of miffed about those raunchy ads…What are your thoughts?”

On WorldofGood.com, share and find out the little things we can do to reduce our ecological footprint.

Little things we can do: Every day we are leaving a footprint on the planet. You’ll be surprised to learn all the ways we can reduce our footprint by making little changes each day.

Shopping responsibly without plastic shopping bags: How? Did you know that some environmental experts argue that plastic bags are actually better for the environment than paper bags? Read this discussion to find out why, and share how you reduce your use of disposable bags.

What's "green washing" and how might consumers recognize this when shopping? Ever wonder what it means when something is “natural”? Find out how you can make sure your purchases are as eco-friendly as you want them to be.

Many individuals like you are discussing big ideas about our role as citizens of the world.

In the discussion A World Without Boundaries, someone asks: I just had a discussion with my husband about helping people outside our country. He feels that we should "take care of our own" first. I believe that there are no boundaries as far as people are concerned. Everyone is "our own" from the US to Africa to everywhere in between, I see no boundaries except the ones we draw ourselves (aside from physical boundaries). I believe we should help all of humankind through every and all means. How do you feel about this subject? Do you believe that we should help "our own" first?

What do you think of Gross National Happiness? Instead of Gross Domestic Product, which measures our country’s performance in dollars, one country is measuring its success based on happiness. People weigh in on whether this is a good idea and even feasible.

Hi Amy,

Can any person have a blog or do you need to have a special product or certification? I live in San Francisco and my wife and I bike and we are completely changing our habits now due to the price of gas. Could we have a blog on worldofgood.com? How does the process work? Thanks!

Andrew
