eBay Workshop: Introducing New Features for Half.com File Exchange - Dec 11

Dec 11, 2006 11:00 AM
File Exchange is a free listing tool designed to help you list items, revise existing listings, remove listings as well as enables you to issue refunds all via a flat file.

We have been talking with our current File Exchange users and it has become clear that we could make you even more efficient by introducing a few new post sales management functions. We heard you and are excited to let you know that we will be releasing the following very soon (later this week!!)

These new features of File Exchange include:

1. Download Half.com Refunded Order Reports
2. Download Half.com Shipped Order Reports
3. Marking Items as Shipped
4. Leaving Feedback

eBay Workshop: Introducing New Features for Half.com File Exchange - Dec 11

Dec 11, 2006 11:01 AM
Two new downloadable files.

Today you have the ability to obtain Half.com Order reports and Half.com Payment files via File Exchange. To help you run reports or reconcile shipped and refunded orders we are creating two new reports that are available in Create a Download Request.

Half.com Refunded Orders
This report will contain all the existing values found in the Half.com order report with the addition of the following fields:

Status: Specifies the status; will always be “Refunded”

RefundBySeller: Represents the refund amount debited from your account. This amount is shown as a negative number, for example, -2.50.

TotalRefundToBuyer: Represents the total amount refunded to the buyer, which includes the seller’s refund, as well as the amount refunded from Half.com. This amount is shown as a positive number.

RefundOnDate: The date the refund was issued. If multiple refunds were issued, each line item refund appears on a new line. Format will be YYYY-MM-DDTHH. Example: 2006-11-18

Note: This file is on a transaction basis not on an order basis. You receive, from Half.com, 1 order which can contain multiple transactions (multi-item order from 1 buyer), you may refund one or all transactions in any given order, refunds will appear separately in this file.

Half.com Shipped Orders
This report will contain all the existing values found in the Half.com order report with the addition of the following fields:

Status: Specifies the status; will always be “Shipped”

ShippedOnDate: The date the item was marked as shipped YYYY-MM-DDTHH. Example: 2006-11-18

A new “ACTION” is available in File Exchange

Today you have the ability to upload inventory files (with the action of “Add”, “Revise” or “End”) and the ability to Issue Refunds with the action of “IssueRefund”.

We are creating a new action for Half.com File Exchange called “Status”
This action will be used to Mark Items as Shipped and to Leave Feedback in bulk!

We will be updating the Select a Template Page of File Exchange to the following:
Inventory Load Template: Will be the same as today

Post Sales Management: A new template will be available with two actions “IssueRefund” and “Status” along with all the available headers

Let’s break down the Status action in more detail…

Half.com: Marking Items as Shipped via File Exchange

After you have made a sale you can manually mark items as shipped from you’re my Account > Sales page. Since many of you have lots of sales (yay!) and have indicated that it is very difficult to do this manually we wanted to enable this function in File Exchange.

To do this you will want to follow these simple steps:

A. Download the new Post Sales Management Template

B. Fill in the template with the appropriate information, and save as a csv file.

C. Upload your file as you do today

D. Download your response file.

The next post will cover the fields needed to perform this action.

eBay Workshop: Introducing New Features for Half.com File Exchange - Dec 11

Can I use the upload function of file exchange to upload non-isbn books? I only have 50+ books on Half cause frankly it's PITA to sit here and list individually. I do have a comma delimited file I could up load but most of my books are "pre-isbn". Is that do-able?

You can not list books on Half.com without an ISBN. You can, however, use File Exchange to list on eBay without using ISBN. You can go to File Exchange > Select a Template > Item Specifics then select your category. This will provide you with a template that is not ISBN specific.
Thanks!

I don't need to use file exchange for ebay. I have TL. I need a TL for half. Otherwise, it's never gonna be more than 50 listings for me.

Why did you decide to limit it to ISBN only. I mean MOST of the books in the world were printed before 1969. For heaven's sake. Good books too!

Even Amazon lets up upload non-ISBN things. It's PITA there but you can if you work at it.

I think you guys make it toooooo hard to use Half for sellers ever since ebay tried to assassinate Half. It's easier for me to upload 1000 books to ABE or Biblio that 50 to half. THAT's ridiculous
