eBay Workshop: Introduction to the Sell Your Item form - April 24

I'm still waiting for someone from ebug to explain to me why my show/hide parameters are being auto-changed by ebug when I try to do a revise or a relist. I've produced auction numbers of items that it's happened to, I've provided screen shots of what my original saved parameters were and what auto-changes ebug made on them. I've reported this through customer service, I've reported it through function not working, I've sent emails to Griff, mikem, Miyuki, Nate, and probably a couple more. Mikem was going to call me and talk to me about it and that never materialized. This has been going on since early December. Why can't I get an answer as to WHY this is happening??

Just DEW it!

1. How to add a second category to my listing
Did you know that you can add a second relevant category to your listing, so that your listing is exposed to more potential buyers in searches?

Here’s how to do it in the new listing form.
If you are finding your first category by browsing, click on the Add a second category link highlighted in the following screen
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The Add a second category link grays out on the bottom. Now you can go ahead and select another category inside the Browse for categories screen
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I’ve selected the second category and am ready to move on. Double-check the two categories underneath “Categories you have selected” to make sure those are what you want

Hello.

Could you please tell me how to use HTML on the new form. I've tried repeatedly and I cannot get the new form to accept any HTML code so I've been listing on the old form where there's no problem with HTML.

you are starting off by doing a search for categories, go to the “Search for categories” tab, enter your keyword first, and click on search. You will see a list of categories like the following screen
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

You can then select two categories by checking any two categories you would like.

You can select two categories even if they don’t show up in a single search. For example, say that I have a digital camera and a flash card that I would like to list together in two categories. First, I search for “camera” and the following comes up in the search results
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Then I select the first category for the digital camera. The bottom of the screen shows that I have the first category selected
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

For the second category, I enter “flash card” in the search box and click on the search button
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Then I select my second category for the flash card

If you are using Recently Used Categories, switch to the “Recently used categories” tab, and check any two categories you wish.

2. Adding a Gallery picture to my listing
Using a good gallery picture in your listing is very important. It draws more attention to your item in the search results, and thereby increases your chances of selling. Our statistics show that items with Gallery pictures can sell for 14% more than those without.

After picking a category for your item, you will be taken to the Sell: Create Your Listing page. Go to the Pictures section under the Describe your item section, and add several pictures first. For instructions on how to add your pictures, please see the last workshop. You will see your picture section look something like this:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Check the Gallery Picture option
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

If you are happy with the first picture selected, then you are done. Otherwise, click on the Change Picture button
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Then click on the picture you want to be displayed when your item shows up in the search result

3. How to customize my selling form
Did you know that you can actually customize your selling form in the new listing flow? You can shorten the Create Your Listing page to include only the options that are required and the options you need.

There are multiple ways to do this:
- On the top of the Create Your Listing page, click on the Show/Hide Options link or the icon to the right.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It should bring up the following popup window
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

For example, if you would like to use Visitor counter, you can check the Visitor counter option inside the Item Details area, and click on save. Visitor counter will appear on your form after that.

- In each section of the page you would like to customize, you can click on the circle with a bubble in it. If you never use Return Policy, and would like to remove it from your form, you can click on the circle with a bubble right next to the Additional Information heading.
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It will take you to the popup window with the Additional section already displayed:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Then just uncheck the Return Policy item and click on Save. Your screen will refresh and Return Policy will be removed from your page.
