My name is Gui, and I’m a Product Marketing Manager here at eBay.

As you probably noticed already, we have recently made some changes to SM & SMP. These new features will allow users to increase efficiency and save time by simplifying steps in the selling process. At a high level, these are the changes that were made:

SM & SMP

- HTML emails
- Additional Custom Templates
- Convenient email options

SMP only

- Automation enhancements

I’ll explain each of these enhancements in my following posts

Hi bollieolson, can you tell me how you are listing your items? Are you trying to use the inventory functionality of SMP or are you using another tool to list your items (for example, Turbo Lister)?

If you are using Inventory Management, you can preview your listings by clicking on the "Template" that you created.

How do I get started? Are there ways to relist unsold auction items in my store in bulk? Is there a simpler way to "mark item paid," "mark item shipped," "leave feedback," and "contact buyer" to let him/her know that the item has been shipped than by going back to MyEBay between each step? HTML emails:

We have now enabled HTML emails. Users have the option of using HTML emails for their post-transactions communications. Previously, all emails were text based. With this new version, we are providing users the opportunity to create HTML emails and include (1) your Stores Logo with a custom header at the top, (2) a Pay Now Button, (3) your invoice details and (4) Merchandising widgets. Users will still have the option of sending out only text emails if they prefer to do so. For the HTML emails, you don’t need to know HTML to create these emails… we will provide you with the wrapping and HTML editor.

Additional custom templates:

We will also allow users to add multiple “custom templates”. Today, SM/SMP only allows users to have one custom email and you can’t “save” the template. This new feature will allow you to create your own template and use it as part of the selling process. For example, some sellers mentioned that they would like to create their email templates based on the products they sell, some sellers would like to create email templates based on the location of the buyer. With the new custom templates, we will be providing sellers with this flexibility.

Convenient email options:

Smart behavior now allows SM and SMP to remember your last selection when choosing whether or not to send a copy of each email to yourself. Currently, this option needs to be clicked every time a user sends an email. This will save some clicks and time.
