eBay Workshop: Seven Steps to Scaling Your Business - October 26th

Oct 26, 2005 1:17 PM
Re. thesilverdivallc eBay Store

The Silver Diva

There are couple things you could do to optimize your Store:

1. You could use more Custom Categories, maybe breaking up your Pendant Category by style, or design?
2. You could also use more Keywords in your Custom Cateogries. eg Gemstone Bracelets
3. You could try setting up custom pages for your "Specials" or "Features".

Otherwise, I think your Storefront page looks really nice! Great work!

Thanks for the great ideas - One question - what do you mean by setting up a custom page for features or specials? How do you do that? Thanks!

Bernard, great work on the customer service end. Your feedback is excellent. Fantastic use of pictures. In your title you may want to use "Sculpture" or "Statue" instead of "Collection" since those words are more discriptive of the item. I like the information on shipping, especially in regards to holiday delivery. Fantastic return policy and terms. Overall a great listing. The page is very long so I like the links at the top, although they are a little difficult to see in white. Now I'll take a look at your Store.

My main recommendation for your Store, Bernard, would be to reduce the amount of text at the top of the page. You want your products to appear on the first screen without scrolling down.

RE katiyanas_collectibles

Store: Katiyana's Handmade Collectibles

1. Great use of your Store features, Custom Categories, Custom Header, Pages, Promotion Boxes!
2. Great promotional ideas "Sweater of the Month Club", Gift Certificates and great holiday merchandising.
3. Selling Internationally--that's a huge best practice.
4.

Suggestions for optimization...
Your Store header may be a bit too large. I have to scroll down to see your product.

You also may want to consider using only 1 font/color in your header to make it a bit easier to read.

Carrissa - custom pages are web pages that you can customize in your store.

If you go into my store, you'll see a line of links : Store Policies, Doll Clothes Sizes & Measurements, etc. Those are my custom pages.

You can create your custom pages within My Ebay under Manage My Store, and they are GREAT for pulling in search engine traffic!
