2) Put something in your eBay store or enewsletter that if someone was thinking about giving during the holidays (which so many of us do) they can shop for a cause and make a big impact while getting through their shopping list.

This sounds like an awsome program and I think I will use it for more of my auctions on a monthly basis to aid these great organizations.

If an item we list doesn't sell do we still get the discount on fees?

Also can buyers search for auctions that give part of their sales to charity?

It is an awesome program, Minnie--and you can raise "real money." I have raised more than $11,000 with eBay Giving Works auction and store listings this year, and am working on a career $100,000. Good for motivating yourself to list just one more thing each day!

Hi minniealdinger,

The fee credit applies only to listings that sell.

Buyers can definitely filter their searches to find the charity listings! They can do this in one of two ways:

(1) They can go to Link and do a keyword search, browse by category, or browse by nonprofit

(2) They can do an advanced search and check the box that says "eBay Giving Works items - Search for items that benefit nonprofit organizations."

We've got two great causes that we’re highlighting right now:

Spotlight on Children in Need (Link)

Spotlight on Global Poverty (Link)

and another one coming up November 15th:

Spotlight on Fighting AIDS (Link)

Hi mj-meltingpot!

You as a seller get to choose what percentage of your item's final sale price to donate :). The minimum percentage is 10% (5% if it's a Motors vehicle), and the percentages go up in 5% increments all the way up to 100%.

The donation percentage is done on an item by item basis, so you can choose to give 10% on one item and 60% on another--it's all up to you!

Hi Africadirect,

Ashley already had some great suggestions in thinking about best practices for doing this during the holidays. I'd also add to that to think about the items that are more likely to be "giftable" during this time period--those will be more appealing, and with the eBay Giving Works feature to boot, will be even more irresistable to buyers.

Can we list gift certificates to our busineses as Giving Works items? Example...a $25 gift certificate to Africa Direct, with 100% going to one of our causes?
