Ready to get started?
You can list with eBay Giving Works in one of several ways: the Sell-Your-Item form, Turbo Lister, Blackthorne, ChannelAdvisor, Infopia, Vendio, and Kyozou (if you don’t see your listing tool mentioned here, please contact your provider and ask if they support eBay Giving Works functionality!). In this workshop, we’ll be going over how to list with the Sell-Your-Item form, but the process is similar to the other tools as well.
In the SYI form, look for the “eBay Giving Works” section, as shown below—just look for the ribbon, and you can’t miss it!
Next, you’ll need to choose a nonprofit organization—there are over 11,000 certified nonprofits to choose from!—and then select the percentage of your item’s final sale price that you’re committing to donate. (Please note: if your item sells, there is a $5 minimum donation to ensure that the nonprofit gets a meaningful gift)
What happens if the organization you’d like to support isn’t in the list? You can nominate them to get added. Simply fill out the recommend a nonprofit form and we will email the nonprofit to tell them about eBay Giving Works, and give them all the information they need to join. It’s free—and easy—for them to participate!
One thing to note here: if you’ve never listed an item with eBay Giving Works before, you will be prompted at this point to complete a one-time registration (it takes about 5 minutes) with our partner, MissionFish. As we mentioned above, eBay partnered with MissionFish to administer the eBay Giving Works program.
A nonprofit themselves, MissionFish provides the incredibly valuable services of vetting all of the nonprofit organizations that register to participate with eBay Giving Works, as well as making sure every donation that results from an eBay Giving Works listing is safely delivered to the intended nonprofit.
In order for them to ensure the delivery of every donation, MissionFish requires basic information from you, including a credit card where your donation can be charged for your convenience.
