eBay Workshop: Using the New Turbo Lister - June 26

Jun 26, 2006 1:02 PM
Welcome to the new Turbo Lister workshop.

Thanks for joining us here today. My name is Jennifer, and I am a Product Manager here at eBay focused on Turbo Lister. With me here today, we have our entire team from multiple areas of eBay from marketing, product management, usability and development and we will spend the next hour here with you sharing some information about the new Turbo Lister and answering your questions. :)

For this workshop, I will quickly review how to upgrade from Turbo Lister (aka Turbo Lister 1 or TL1) to the new Turbo Lister (aka Turbo Lister 2 or TL2). We will then dedicate the remaining time to answer specific questions you might have.

A few ground rules so that we can make this workshop productive for everybody watching:
1. We will try to answer as many question as we can, but we will prioritize questions related to “how to” do something in Turbo Lister.
2. If you want to report an issue specific to your Turbo Lister (ex. installation problem), please contact our customer support team directly following the steps below:

Steps to Contact Customer Support

From Turbo Lister: on the top menu, click on “Help” and select “Contact Customer Support” (from the main menu, not from the main toolbar

From the web: go to the online submission form at Link.

For a faster response, make sure you click on “Selling and Fees” -> “Selling Tools” -> Turbo Lister 2. This will ensure your question gets to one of our Turbo Lister specialists.

Let’s get started!

I have question regarding installing the new Turbo Lister? I currently have the previous version and want to know what will happen to my listing if I remove the previous version and install the current version?

As you probably know, the new version of Turbo Lister requires a new installation. But before you download the new Turbo Lister, make sure you have the latest version of your previous Turbo Lister (Turbo Lister 1) installed. This will help prevent issues migrating data from the previous version of Turbo Lister to the new version of Turbo Lister.

Step 1: Backup your current Turbo Lister database

A. Back-up your current Turbo Lister database to make sure your data will be safely transferred to the New Turbo Lister. In Turbo Lister 1, go to File -> Backup Database.

Create

B. Turbo Lister 1 will prompt you to save your database in your computer. Click OK.

Create

C. Wait until your backup is complete.

Step 2: Close your current Turbo Lister application (Turbo Lister 1)

Note: Turbo Lister 1 and the New Turbo Lister cannot be open at the same time.
Note: Do not uninstall Turbo Lister 1 at this time. Uninstalling Turbo Lister 1 is not necessary and not recommended while moving your data to the New Turbo Lister

My backups on the old turbolister have been failing. Is there a quick and/or easy way to find the problem file?
