Description: With a bit of HTML & some graphics, your eBay store can be customized to be uniquely yours. Learn how to create a custom store header, custom store pages & promotion boxes. Certified eBay Stores Designer, Sally Milo of Milo Design (and seller GOing1nceLLC on eBay)will guide you on customizing your own eBay store. (Please note, this will not be a tutorial on learning HTML - there are many resources on eBay & the web to learn HTML and creating web graphics).

Since I sell few items on auction and mostly have an eBay store for its convenience to my few regulars, I don't follow my own advice in this instance. On this template I did, a bit below the description is a graphic which invites browsers to this seller's eBay store:

I think my biggest concern is that once Ebay puts the new page change with a much smaller description area into effect that all my efforts will be wasted. I've developed a custom page but had not launched it yet until we get some guidance from Ebay if in fact we will still be able to have the store frame. Have they shared any news with you about this?

Sally are there any color combinations that trigger "buy" impulses from buyers? For instance, I had a retail store and read that the smell of chocolate chips cookies or apple pie makes Men stay and buy more. So every time a customer pulled up, I ran around spraying air spray! LOL. It did work too.

I need to figure out some "buy" triggers for my store. I am sure there is some color theory somewhere that says this color is better than that one. Have you ever heard anything like that?

We will not enforce the links policy in July as we originally announced on May 19, 2008. We will introduce a revised policy by mid-August, 2008 that will allow links to your ProStore and to non-transactional sites from your About Me page. woadieland - I've read some articles online about various color theories. I tend to go by "instinct" depending on who the buyers are for the items. Men will not generally be into pastels, though pale blues & pinks will be nice for linens, bedding & baby items. Strong navy blue with some bright red will often appeal to men searching for business-related items. And so on. The shades of purples in your store do seem to say "depression glass" to me.

Boy, Kochos, that's a tough one! I see you're using a blue as your prominent store color - and it's a pleasant shade to me. You might ask on the Photos/HTML board for some to post an assortment of coordinating colors. (That board is full of opinionated, talented people!)

Kochos, is there someone you know who could help you when you are working on the color scheme. I have a friend who is color blind and since his divorce he goes to work in some awful clothes color combinations.
