Today, we will talk about Andale Research, which provides analysis of eBay closed sales and tells you what to do with that information.

In this workshop, we’ll talk about how Andale research can help you determine which category to list your item in, what day and time to list your item, what eBay marketing features to use when listing and what listing type to use. We’ll tell you how to quickly research a product line or product type with our new Category Research, and we’ll show you how to create your own price guide.

Just as you use the search on eBay, Research will ask you to put in keywords. When you are doing a search, on eBay or the Internet, you will want to type in keywords that will give you the most accurate results. When searching or eBay, or entering your Research term on Andale, you wouldn’t typically search adjectives (wow, great, interesting), unless they were a component in the item you were searching for (Great Gatsby, for instance), but you also do not want to return too many results so choosing a keywords to search or research is always the first step.

Example of Using Keywords to Search or Research Items

Search or Research using the keyword “Glass” would return tens of thousands of results.

Search or Research using the keywords “Glass Beads” would return a few thousand results.

Searching or Research using the keywords “Blue Lampwork Glass Beads” would return a few hundred.

Many of you have probably used the closed search on eBay to determine what to price your item. The Price Summary in Andale Research is exactly that. Using the past data to give you the average selling price. Andale will provide 30 days data which is based on closed auction with trends that display 60 days.

This is a quick way to view the success rate of your item.
