Small towns all over the USA are struggling to keep their population and to hang onto the quality of life they have learned to appreciate.
1. Bazine, KS, sold their 78 year old school house for $55,000 and it will be used for a new business
2. Gaylord, KS, sold the schoolhouse the city could not afford to tear down for $25,000 and it is now used to manufacture microphones. It brought 3 new families to the area and 5 new jobs.
That is outstanding news for such a small community.
3. Timken, KS, school built in 1937 as a WPA project was sol for $15,000, buyer will turn it into a private residence an move from California to Kansas.
There were 17,309 hits and 63 serious bidders for the property!
4. Tipton, KS, school sold for $150,000 to a buyer from Utah and is being turned into a private school which will employ 40 jobs to town!
5. Edson, Ks, gymnasium was sold for $50,000 to another California man, who is using it for a huge flea market. *g* And the buyer is a big time eBay seller!!!
Not one of these towns has more than 300 population!
