Where can I find the list of countries that will accept the Priority Mail International Flat Rate items? USPS has published a Country Listing with rate groups for GXG, EMI and PMI, but does not list PMI FLAT RATE.

Because all countries will not have the same 20 pound weight limit for Priority Mail International Flat Rate items, where can I find a list of the weight limitations per country? USPS has published a Country Listing with rate groups for GXG, EMI and PMI with maximum weights, but does not list maximum weights for the PMI Flat Rate.

Welcome to our workshop on the U.S. Postal Service rate changes taking place on May 14, 2007. We would like to take some time today to describe the changes being introduced by USPS as well as answer any questions you might have.

This workshop is designed to provide information on the USPS international changes. If you have questions related to the USPS domestic changes, we ask that you view the following posts from an online workshop that was held on April 23rd, 2007.

Will tracking be available on the Priority Mail International Flat Rate items? If so, which countries and/or cities?

Major changes to international mail

International services have been reorganized from eight products offered to four simplified groupings:

• Global Express Guaranteed will become one offering, versus a document and non-document service today.

• Global Express Mail will become an extension of domestic Express Mail and will be called Express Mail International.

• Air and Economy Parcel Post and Global Priority Mail will be combined into Priority Mail International.

• Air and Economy Letter Post will be combined into First Class Mail International.

When will the new supplies be orderable? (I know we can use the old supplies until they are gone.)

Elimination and Restructuring of Services

The USPS is eliminating surface-transported economy services. The USPS has experienced continuing volume decline for these economy services. Economy services that use surface transportation account for only 2.7% of total international volume. As a result, efficient international surface delivery networks have diminished and costs have dramatically increased. In addition, the lack of efficient surface delivery networks has led to lengthy and inconsistent delivery times for economy service to many destinations.

Hello to everyone!
My question is regarding Flat Rate Envelopes for the new Priority Mail International.
USPS currently offers two Flat Rate envelopes for their Global Priority service. The current fees are as follows:

SMALL Flat Rate Envelope:
Canada(Grp1) / Mexico(Grp2): $4.25
Grp3, Australia, Japan, New Zealand(Grp4), Grp 5: $5.25

LARGE Flat Rate Envelope:
Canada(Grp1) / Mexico(Grp2): $7.50
Grp3, Australia, Japan, New Zealand(Grp4), Grp 5: $9.50

On the new Priority Mail International I can only find mention for new rates for just one Flat Envelope:

LARGE
Canada, Mexico: $9
All other Countries: $11

Is USPS discontinuing the use of the smaller flat rate envelopes with their new Priority Mail International service? If they are not, what will the new rates be for the small envelopes and can we continue to use our current envelope supply for the pending change?

Price Increase Justification

The USPS increase in international rates is necessary due to cost increases that occurred during a price freeze from January 2001 through January 2006. All international and domestic services must cover their attributable costs and make a reasonable contribution to our institutional costs. The published price increases will allow the USPS to meet that requirement.

Could you please verify for us that the Domestic Priority Shipping boxes can be used for the new Priority International? If so, is there anything special that has to be done to the boxes or added information that needs to be added to them?
Thank you!

Priority Mail Flat Rate Box

Customers will be able to use the domestic Priority Mail flat rate boxes for international shipments. There will be two flat rates: one rate to Canada and Mexico ($23.00) and one rate to all other countries ($37.00). Please note there is a 20 pound maximum allowable weight, and country specific restrictions must also be adhered to. The 20 pound limit is due to the packaging design of the flat rate box. It is designed to not tear or fall apart during shipping and handling while protecting the contents up to a specific weight.
