Anything I can do but wait?

May 5, 2009 12:16 PM
I recently purchased an item from an eBay seller who had great feedback. Well it has now been almost 4 weeks since buying and I have received nothing. I have tried to contact him (phone, email, messenger), but he won't respond. I've reported him to PayPal and eBay, but they have to wait for him to respond via email.

There are probably five of us who bought from this seller who have not gotten our items.

Is there anything that I can do besides just wait for his time to run out with PayPal and eBay dispute responses?

Is anything going to happen to this guy if he doesn't respond. Best case scenario I get my money back and lose 6 weeks of waiting. What happens to him? Does he get to go on his marry way?

Have you escalated the Paypal dispute to a claim yet? If not, you need to do so as soon as possible.

" What happens to him? Does he get to go on his marry way?"

Actually no, you can report him for seller non-performance, AND leave a negative feedback and low DSR's, all of which will harm his ability to sell and if everyone who is not getting their items from this seller does the same, he will not be a seller for very much longer.

Yeah I've escalated the claim as dispute to PayPal. They are waiting for his "email response" - though I don't think they'll get one.

Since you escalated the claim to a dispute, PayPal will give the seller a few days to respond, I think it is somewhere between 7 and 10 days. So all you really can do is wait. PayPal will take care of you.

But in the future, please remember that you only have 45 days with which to file a complaint with PayPal, and 4 weeks is being very generous. Please, neve be so generous that you miss that time for filing.

Seller ended their current listings on the 16th. I'm wondering if something happened to them.

Wondered that myself for a time. But I'm surprised that there would be no communication then (when he ended the others) or now by anybody.

I've emailed and called every possible contact I have and the phone just rings or goes to v-mail. And emails aren't returned.

Seller died? Along with family? Got hit by a tornado? Is in the hospital?

Just saying, anything could have happened. On the other hand, he could have just lost it and walked away.

They could also have gotten too many INR claims and had their selling privileges restricted.
