I have a lift gate I am trying to sell and it's in new 3ngland and the buyer made an offer about 80% of the asking price. His address is in Illinois so I am wondering. He said 4hats where he is from but still said he'd pick it up. Could this be a scam or am I paranoid?

. Someone did that before where they made an offer but once I said it's pickup only which is stated they disappeared.

Also he offered 1000 for this and if I accept how much do I get?

They need to pay in cash when they pick it up. It's an expensive item but, not as easy as some to flip for cash.

Send him a message. Your $1000 offer is fine, but you do understand this is Local Pickup only. So, just let me know a date and time when you would like to come get it, and I'll send you an address.
If he buys and pays for it through eBay, You'll end up with around $850-$875 ish.

It is hard to say but it could be legit. If the cost to ship is more than the guy can drive to pick it up it would be worth it for him to come get it. Maybe I missed it, but did you get a response back when you let him know it is in New Hampshire and he has to drive 900 miles?
