I think eBay’s new fees are ridiculous and am looking elsewhere to sell merchandise

New fees? What new fees?
If you're going to sell somewhere else you probably should end all your listings first.

Thanks for the update. I was wondering what your LT plans were - saves me the trouble of asking.

The only new fee is the transaction fee went from 30¢ to 40¢.  If a dime on each transaction is make or break, then do what you must.

I think the carrier shipping rates and federal/state income taxes are ridiculous also but it's just a part of doing business. I frankly never worried that much about what others are making/charging but what I am making. EBay is a for profit business just as I am and as you will find with most other ecommerce sites. When I look at the big picture the eBay fees are often one of my cheaper selling expenses.

There are LOTS of other options out there including some local forums and venues that have very minimal, if any, fees. The tradeoff is the size of your potential buyer pool.

Looks like you have been an eBay member since  February, 2024.  What new fees are you referring to???

Looks like retail commercial space rents in your location are minimum $20 a square foot a year, so likely about 3K a month for 2000 square feet.

I guess you meant that for the OP because my location is no where near there. Lol

Yes, sorry, my bad... but I think I got the math right!

eBay works because you get more eyeballs on your listings than anywhere else. And in spite of stories of scams and the occasional sale gone wrong, it is easily one of the safest places to sell online.

No need to announce your departure just end your listings,

but does not look like you gave eBay much of a chance just my opinion.

February 2024 until mid-April is not long but okay totally your choice.

But if the fees are too high for you here that's for you to decide

Have you looked over your business expenses and marketing plan?

Hope everything works out for you.

Good luck😀

Thats probably for the best. Especially if you think these are 'new fees',and have only sold here for two months, dont forget to close your listings.

The selling fees are similar to year 2011, the last major revision.
When a seller complains about some expense being too high, (fees, store subscription, postage) the reality is their business model needs improvement. They need to go back to the drawing board and sell different items in other categories.
We deduct those expenses when filing our taxes and my net after expenses has been 43% in recent years.

Not including CAM and insurance.

And insurance ... where I live ... is a BIG deal.

And, if you can get it, BIG money.
