Did you mean:

Stadt Niederlahnstein. 50 Pfennig. 1917.

27 April 2024- Greetings to all coin, token, & paper money collectors, where ever you might be. (Attention: This note is NOT FOR SALE). Another nice note from the small collection Heron acquired in 2023.

In year 1917 Niederlahnstein was located in Prussian state of Hesse-Nassau.

Note Type: Kriegsgutschein. Emergency wartime good coupon.

Note Size: 96mm X 57mm.

Note Grade = Uncirculated.

Attention: This neat note IS NOT FOR SALE.

Ref: N247204.

Nice photo at the Numista site.

At top of note front and in large font is: 50 PFENNIG.

On front of note at left is city Coat of Arms.

At right on front of note is depiction of tugboat towing smaller vessel.

This is a nice note for Heron to own because he served 6 months on a real 125 foot diesel powered tugboat (Two 12 cylinder engines) and we also did some towing. Rescuing 5 commercial fishing boats in 6 months.

Brings back memories, for sure.

In year 1332, Niederlahnstein obtained city 'rights'.

In 1911 chief industries were machinery manufacturing & shipbuilding.

In 1905 population was 4,350.

The river Lahnstein merges with river Rhein at Niederlahnstein.

Niederlahnstein is 104 miles North of Stadt Landau in der Pfalz.

Attention: This note IS NOT FOR SALE.

**Another nice small note issued during WWI.  There are thousands of different notes to collect.  Heron particularly likes notes with water scenes, ships of all types, fancy coats of arms, and even strange names in Alemannic. Many different ways to enjoy collecting numismatics.  And the fun of collecting continues onward.**

Atencion: This note IS NOT FOR SALE.
