Hi. My husband has a guitar case he'd like to sell. It's vintage and we've never seen one like it. We've searched the internet but can't come up with anything close. Perhaps it's not even a guitar case but came with a guitar we bought. The case opens from the top. It has two side pieces that fold out from the top and the guitar is then loaded into the case from the top. The handle hardware is in place and sound but the leather handle broke off. Has anyone ever seen one of these? Are they called something? Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks so much!

That is an interesting case indeed. Its hard to see from the pictures provided, but there does look like there is an impression where the headstock would lay. If you can take a close up of that area, if there is an impression, it may help identify it. Sometimes on the inside of the lid there is also an impression. Check for any impressions or marks from the previous instrument. Does not mean it was designed for that particular case but again it may help.
