Looks Like A Bumpy Road Ahead

Now that eBay has released their Q1 report, sellers may wonder what's ahead for Q2 or Q3? From what I'm reading and watching, even from Lannone himself, it looks a little concerning. If you're struggling now as a seasoned seller, or if you're new to the platform, the next few months (or maybe longer) will most likely be challenging to say the least.  My advice is to prepare proactively instead of facing disappointment reactively.

It’s al about inventory acquisition and being smart about how to obtain it and stay profitable on here. I agree though that Ebay is on the brink with the fees. They need to focus more on getting more traffic to the website without making that the sellers responsibility to fork their revenue for their stockholders purpose. If that means laying off more people to have the funds to do it ok.

Well. I am a full time seller on here and depend on this website for a big chunk of my income and I am still staying afloat.

Since eBay is not growing, and it needs to show profits to its shareholders ... then eBay has got to continue to find new ways to milk more and more profit from sellers.

That's the plan !

THAT PLAN IS ONLY GOING TO LAST SO LONG. They will be pricing themselves into oblivion.

Have you been in the real world?  The economy is stopping, no one is shopping or spending.  Except on ebay where you can get free stuff.

Re: Looks Like A Bumpy Road Ahead

That is a bit of an over reaction to what is happening.  The economy hasn't stopped.  The unemployment rate is the lowest we have seen in many years.  But we are in a presidential election year and things are really unsettling to many right now.  Way too much fighting and not enough civil communication.  That scares many.

You also need to consider the volume of active sellers on this site and the huge volume of listings they create.  The competition is deep and buyers have so much to wade through both good and bad.  It is exhausting sometimes.
