Making offers

Ebays policy of automatic paying if an offer is accepted makes no sense. If you make offers on the same item and they all accept you end up buying all of them???

Re: Making offers

Yes! You shouldn't make offers on things you don't intend to buy!

Re: Making offers

It makes perfect sense if you realize that ebay had to find a way to deal with the large number of "buyers" who make offers and never pay.  This disrupts the marketplace and costs sellers time and money.

Re: Making offers

Yes.  That is a major reason why they had to set it up like that.   WAY too many buyers make offers on way too many items expecting to just buy one (or two or whatever) and stiff the other sellers.

So don't do that!

Re: Making offers

Absolutely. An offer is a binding contract to buy if the offer is accepted.

From eBay's Make an Offer policy:

When you make an offer or counteroffer, you’re committing to buy the item if your offer is accepted. If you entered your payment method when making your offer, you'll be charged if the seller accepts.

Outrageous!  Expecting you to honor your commitment.  What's this world coming to?
