Is this Pierre Balmain billfold authentic?

Appears to be bonded leather or faux leather, the lining is taffeta, the gilt printing is all in lower case. I initially figured it to be vintage 1970's, but I don't really know. Is it authentic? Any comments are sincerely appreciated.
