I recently had my first NAD. Buyer said in the return that the discs won’t play in their car and are defective.
Ok return was automatically accepted. I asked the buyer if they would like me to replace any discs that didn’t work. The buyer quickly came back and said no we just didn’t like it. Well ok then.
I received the items back and played them, each disc the buyer opened played perfectly.
So I went ahead and issued the buyer their money. Then I reported the buyer for abusing the returns process.
Yesterday I was surprised to see eBay issued a refund for the cost of the return shipping label.

Wanted to add but ran out of time: The return was my first for this year…in the report I sent to eBay I stated the buyer said they “ just didn’t like it” in messages.

eBay has been good about that when all of the proper steps are taken throughout the return process. But before we go patting them on the back, remember that it's the abuse of the MBG that is being corrected here. The way I see it is, this return should have never have been forced for you to accept. eBay's attempt at reverse psychology. Soon we'll be thanking them for sending us some portion of what we sold.

I was only commenting because I’ve never encountered that before.
I’m not ready to pat eBay on the back just yet.

Sellers who provide exceptional service don't question the buyers' reason.
How do you know your CD's don't work in other players??? Have you tested it in all brands and makes?
Not all CD-R's or CD-RW's work in all players if that is what you have.
You should have accepted the return without challenging or questioning it.
That's why they refunded the buyer.

@american-photography That and most people just do not write well enough for actually understand their meaning. The buyer writing "did not like it", most likely has nothing to do with buyer's remorse. It meant just as the case was written, "it did not work in their player".

The op didn't challenge the buyer. They simply asked if they wanted a refund or a new item. Perhaps you misread something?

I refunded the buyer. Not sure where you see that I didn’t. I paid to have the item returned. eBay refunded that payment to me.
I do test CDs before I mail them.

Where in the OP's listings do you see any CD-Rs or CD-RW's?
Bit of a snarky leap there if you ask me.

The buyer said in a message made sound like a remorse return . So the message told me they didn’t have issues playing the CDs.
No thank you, we didn’t care for the reader or the format as well. I was thinking this was professionally done like Recorded Books. Thank you though! |

Hi everyone,
This thread has been closed at the request of the OP.
Thank you for understanding.
