This creepy trunk full of dolls and doll parts was left by the previous owners of a house I recently bought. I know ZERO about dolls, but this trunk has me curious. Does anyone on this forum have any clues or histories.  Perhaps a collector can find some joy in them? Or use them in some way? They are clearly very old. I find the flamenco lady , but besides that I have little interest in keeping them. The pictures show any unique markings or characteristics I could find. Hello, I usually sell small vintage plastic dolls with painted eyes, so I have not faced this issue before. I just sold an Effanbee Honey doll with sleep eyes.  I don't want them to be damaged during shipping.  I know if this were an old bisque doll, you are supposed to remove the pate and pack the eyes, but this is a strung plastic doll. I was thinking of placing something soft over her eyes (in the closed position) and fastening it down somehow, but when I hold her eyes closed and stand her up, I can feel the pressure of the eyes wanting to open.   I don't know which way is safest.  I am leaning toward eyes fastened closed.  What does everyone do? Hello. I have a doll that I picked up years ago at a doll show.  The eyes look dirty or cloudy and I'm wondering if I can do anything about that. I hesitate to use water or any liquid, since the eyes look a little loose in the socket.  I'm attaching 2 photos. In the closeup photo, taken outside in strong light, I can see the eyes when I zoom in.  The seller told me it was a vintage Jim doll, in his original outfit, sold at Woolworths.  Based on his looks, I'd say he was a Vogue Jeff or a Uneeda Bob clone, so maybe later 1950s? I find that if you take a Q-tip and wet it with a little bit of rubbing alcohol you can clean dolls eyes safely. That way it is not overly saturated and you can rub lightly and the rubbing alcohol dries up the moisture that is making the eyes cloudy. Hope this helps. ... View more
