Thank You, Happy Holidays, and Farewell

First, I'd like to start by thanking the eBay Partner Network affiliates for a great 2009. It's been an exciting year and we've seen a lot of great integrations with the Daily Deal contest and adoption of tools like custom banner, along with a lot of folks taking advantage of the opportunities with Quality Click Pricing and optimizing their affiliate businesses. And I know that there's a lot more innovation to come next year and beyond. To that point, I’m actually saying farewell to eBay Partner Network and am moving on to a new opportunity on the East Coast starting in the New Year. I’m extremely proud to have been part of the eBay Partner Network team, and moving forward, I know that eBay Partner Network will continue to be in great hands with Will Martin-Gill (of will1111@ebay.com fame) taking over my role, and the rest of the team continuing the great work they’ve been doing. So for now I will say farewell, and would like to wish you a very happy, healthy, and safe Holiday season. I hope that you are able to take some time off and enjoy the season with friends and family. And last, as we close out 2009 and the ’00 decade, I hope that the upcoming year and decade are filled with happiness and prosperity. Happy Holidays, Steve Hartman

onelung, One of the reasons I find Auctionbytes so wanting is that short article on Steve's leaving is nothing more than a repeat of the eBay press release. At one time I used to respect Auctionbytes but they have turned into little more than an extension of eBay. Bought and paid for in my book.

Here's where he went... http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y10/m01/i05/s04
I have my Bass Tracker stored in a U-Store-It for the winter. I guess I had better move it before they suspend my access and demand I turn over the raw maintenance logs for my outboard.

GOOD RIDDANCE STEVE! I have bit my tongue long enough! Your "QPC" program has hurt a lot of hard working webmasters and turned one of the internets best affiliate programs into dark and shady algorythm nonsense. I am sure ebay is feeling it, and thats probably the real reason your are leaving...ADIOS!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to follow up Steve’s post with a couple of thoughts. Steve will be missed. He put a lot of energy into building up eBay Partner Network and getting the resources to increase our investment in the platform over the last two years. He’s found a good opportunity on the East Coast and we all wish him the best of luck in his new venture. I’m excited about stepping into this new role. We are making a number of investments in the platform in 2010 and will have some new announcements around new reporting features and tools sometime in the first quarter. I look forward to the good opportunities we’ll create together in the coming year. I also want to introduce JJ McCarthy, who joined the team in November and will be taking over my former role in managing the US affiliate program as I step into the global eBay Partner Network lead role. JJ joins us with significant ecommerce and marketing experience from several companies he started/grew, including having been an affiliate himself as part of his latest venture – please welcome him to the team! You’ll likely be seeing him start to post on these boards in the coming weeks. I wish you and your families the best for 2010, and a happy new year, Will

Good luck to you in your new position Steve. You realize, I hope, that we here in the metro NYC area are having what used to be a "normal" type of winter (snow, cold, etc), so you might need some clothes that are warmer than your San Jose stuff! Happy holidays, and thanks for all of your help.
